You'll often find yourself in line with the locals here waiting for breakfast or lunch. The food leans toward healthy with local grown when possible, there is a nice variety of styles and flavors , and with a friendly mountain town vibe. Try one of the unusual freshly juiced drinks, but pass on the champagne ( it is nearly undrinkable).... More

The South Pine café it's a local favorite for breakfast and brunch. The portions were generous and the quality of the food is excellent. Prices are quite reasonable. This explains why it's always very popular and packed. No reservations so just put your name on the line and wait outside to be called. We had the Florentine Benedict last time... More

Went for lunch and have to admit my sandwich was a bit greasy. Service was ok and atmosphere the same. South Pine is not a restaurant I personally would go to frequently.

This is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch. Hearty, creative menu and friendly service. Food is consistently excellent. I enjoy the changing art displayed--always something fresh and interesting.

This is a fun atmosphere, fresh food, and was worth the wait. Excellent espresso and coffee. The homemade ketchup was great and the southwestern corn cakes were delicious! If you are a couple and willing to sit at the bar the wait is shorter.

Nice restaurant in downtown Grass Valley. Parking is fairly good for the restaurant. We have only had lunch so far but it was very good. My hamburger was very tasty. We both enjoyed the homemade ketchup with the home fried potatoes. Service is very friendly. Seems to be a frequent stop for locals. We will be back.

Outstanding breakfasts and lunches [breakfast served all day til 3]! The staff was friendly so the vibe was fun. Everything seems so fresh and the portions are generous. You could even split an order. The greenie is good, the lobster eggs benedict, the brown rice and veggies dish, Asian salad...wow, you can't go wrong. I will return many times, though... More

Try lobster scramble or tofu scramble. They have many beers, and as you know beer is so much more than just a breakfast drink. Fresh squeezed orange, grapefruit, and carrot juice with meals, and fresh baked muffins. Cant be beat. People line up to get in when it opens in the morning.
