Masala Spice catered our wedding of 200 guests in Santa Barbara at the MOXI Museum and did an absolutely amazing job! I'm Indian and my husband is Jewish and every single person (Indian, Jewish, or other) at our event LOVED the food! People were impressed by the amazing presentation, the unique dishes and flavors and the excellent service. Raj the owner was very kind, humble, and easy to work leading up to and on the day of the wedding. The Masala Spice team worked well together and they helped make our wedding extra special. Their pricing was lower than many other caterers with much better quality food. We highly recommend them for any catering job. And the food at the restaurant is great too! We can't wait to come back and eat all our wedding food again in person.

I love Indian food but am always apprehensive that it's going to be too spicy. We were 4 people and had the chicken tiki massala, the sweet and sour cauliflower, and many other dishes I can't remember. Everything was totally awesome, flavorful, perfectly balanced, not too spicy, and incredibly generous. The service was great and the waiters were so friendly. I recommend it in the strongest possible terms!

I went for the mid-day buffet, which had some unusual dishes, Kaidi chicken (or something like that) and a goat dish. I paid extra for an excellent Kashmiri naan (the kind with cherries inside). Bottomless chai costs extra. The buffet had five or six chutneys, including mango, which is often not included in a buffet. All in all, a pleasant and excellent surprise. It’s convenient to the freeway, so it’s a good break if you’re driving up or down 101.

We chose here on the way back from woking station. As well as the rice and naan (which was delicious) we opted for the lamb dum pukht and the chicken shashlik Bhuna. Both were freshly cooked whilst we waited. Accompanied by saag bhaji, and onion bhaji. Service was good and fast. The Dum Pukht was nicer than the chicken dish - but the chicken dish was packed with onions and peppers so very good value.I look forward to trying some more dishes next time.

Tasty food with lots of flavor without being too spicy. The dish portions are generous. The prices are on the high-end but not too outrageous.

We visited this place for lunch today. We were on our way back from Pismo beach and wanted to have some nice Indian food. It was a WORST EXPERIENCE. We got buffet, mostly everything was cold. It took forever to get Naan bread. I advised the server that tandoori chicken and spicy chicken is cold and it is not fresh. I requested for fresh warm tandoori chicken and spicy chicken, he advised me that he will get it for me. I waited for nearly 30 minutes and there was no sign of chicken and by that time Naan bread also got cold. My wife is vegetarian and she also did not like the food. Finally we got up and went to the server and advised him, that still we did not get chicken and we asked for our bill. The server was very rude, he did not even try to apologize. That SHAMELESS PERSON knew that we did not had food and he asked for the full amount. There were other customers and I did not wanted to create a scene, I paid the bill and walked out. It was the MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will NEVER go there again.

Very nice and comfort food. You will have to request customization if you have orginial Indian Palate. Preparation, ambience and service are decent.

Super friendly staff. Very knowledgeable in proper preparation of authentic Indian food. If you aren't a fan of spice, order your food mild. When the menu says spicy, it is no joke. The medium spiced butter chicken was hot....and I love hot food. The Chicken Vindaloo was exactly as advertised.......and the waitress even asked if i was sure because there was not a mild version. I got what i asked for and this was true to form.....spicy. Likely the hottest food I have consumed in my 47 years on planet earth. That being said, what I could taste was absolutely delicious. I don't tell you it is spicy in any effort to try to scare you away as they have many dishes that are very mild and very very good. This is a must if you want Indian food. Parking can be a challenge but that is only because of it's location....just be creative. Worth the burn if you like things "blow your head off" hot and even if you don't....it is still amazing.

They mix it up so you'll invariably find something that wasn't there yesterday. The food is sabroso!! Lunch price is competitive.

We went on Christmas Eve and the city was not that busy. They only had 1 server but she was efficient with managing orders to taking care of guests. We ordered a simple Fig Walnut Kofta and it was really good.

Wow! What a great dining experience! The first thing that wild us in this restaurant was the fantastic service! From our server, Tanya, to the manager, they never skipped a beat. Great food suggestions and 5-star dishes. The dining area is comfortable, and the food made to order. We are looking forward to coming back when the buffet is open. Santa Barbara, there is a great Indian place you need to try!!

This is a tiny place in a strip mall. Its a good place if you are craving for hot naan and tikka masala. Would I call the taste authentic .. as authentic as it can be in Houston or New Jersey -- definitely not ! But its a decent place to get the spice fix. Over all the restaurant is small and appears to be crowded. It looks like its staffed with UCSB students -- very polite and very courteous. Definitely will go back.
