Our nearby motel had a pathetic continental breakfast, so we opted for the real deal at the Black Bear. Tasty, hearty, basic fare with good service fit our needs.

Walked across the parking lot from the BW (real nice, but pricey) around 9 pm for a late dinner. Adrianna was our server and she gets 5 stars. We both had the tri dip dip which turned out to be the BEST french dip sandwich we both have ever had! Go for the loaded option, with cheese, onions, and mushrooms!... More

Stayed at adjacent hotel. Ordered Turkey dinner to go. Disappointed. Frozen dinner looking meal. Tasted that way as well. They probably have good food, seems like a down home place. This is not a good choice.

When we arrived we were immediately seated, then promptly forgotten about. After 10 minutes we asked questions. Due to a case of bad timing we arrived just ahead of a party of 20 Calfire Forestry Firefighter. Who were promptly followed by a second group of 20 firefighters. So, what should have been a decent quick meal was dragged out for... More

Had dinner here after a long drive. The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and it was reasonably priced. Good choice on the menu and i would go back again

Food here is excellent. My husband and I shared a plate due to the portions here being so large. The pancakes here were amazing. Server was really good too. Great value for excellent food.

Great friends dropped by from Big Sur heading back home to San Jose and decided to stop by at Black Bear to bring us a pie. Absolutely delicious 1st experience for this place for us. The pie was so good that we decided to visit for food. The classic burger was outstanding in taste. Just the right everything that a... More

Being a Black Bear Diner Fan, seeing this across the street from my hotel, was great. And they did not disappoint. Had dinner(New York Steak), and then breakfast (Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs) the next morning.
