I like the Sukiaki at Tokyo Gardens. It's a small little place downtown with very authentic food. If you show up on the weekends you'll even get to karaoke. There aren't usually many people, but they have a great selection of songs. Give it a...try, you'll be glad you did!More

I go all the time, it's an older restaurant downtown. It used to be THE place to go in the 80's for the bar scene. Now it's just a nice place to go for a quiet evening out. The sukiyaki is the best. I always...order it when I go there. Tempura is always good, nice crispy batter. While it doesn't offer a wide variety of sushi, it's still the classic sushi. One of the last true Japanese owned restaurants in Fresno. If you need a beer, you can't go wrong with a nice cold Sapporo. If you want something harder try one of their classic Singapore Slings. Oh, and the restaurant is called Tokyo Garden not Tokyo Gardens, that's a different place in Visalia.More

We go there on Sunday nights for dinner and to listen to jazz. Good Japanese food with excellent service at reasonable prices.

We ate here for the first time on Friday night and the place was mostly empty. Too bad as this place is a hidden gem. It is downtown where the area is starting to turn around and that should help the business. The food, and...service were outstanding and we will put this in our rotation.More

Tokyo Garden has been in downtown Fresno since the 50's. Very authentic food, and it's a bargain, Family run, service can be slow. They have live music sometimes, the bar is a local hangout.

Old school Japanese cuisine at bargain prices. Live music now and then, local and indie bands, Jazz some Sundays. A Fresno landmark since 1947... One of my favorites
