Great authentic Chinese and Dim Sum restaurant. Roasted duck is very good; better than other Chinese restaurants in Fresno. Staffs are friendly with excellent service. Highly recommended and will definitely come back.

We have been eating here weekly for over 20 years, sometimes 2-3 times a week and is THE place to bring friends and out-of-town guests to.

We were given a recommendation for this restaurant as it offered dim sum and we were not disappointed. The dim sum is ordered from a menu card, rather than from carts, but it was easy to navigate and the regular menu had pictures of the offerings for those not familiar with dim sum.
All of the choices that we made were served hot, fresh and were all excellent. It was all good enough that we went back daily for our entire stay in the area. The other menu items, which we didn't try, all look delicious as they were carried past our table and the quantities were more than generous. We will definitely eat here again when ever we're in the area. It was an excellent choice..

Great service, delicious Southern Style Chinese menu. Love to eat dinner with family and friends. Definitely recommend this place to have dinner.

Was with a large family gathering, at least four tables, on a Fri. night; I would like to add that they are very particular regarding Chinese food. Everything went as planned, food served promptly and the restaurant was packed. Have eaten here several times over the last 40+ years and always had a great time, never a bad meal. Restaurant caters to families but anyone can enjoy the food, including business luncheons and small groups. Large parking lot in a small shopping complex. Convenient location on Blackstone, near Herndon Ave. and the 41 Freeway.

There were 3 of Us in our party. 1 entree was served Hot. 10 min later another served warm. 10 min after that ( so 20 min from time 1st lunch order brought) I received a basically cold lunch on a CHIPPED PLATE! Not a nick, a chip ! The waitress ran off so quick I could not get her attention to ask for a different dish or anything. I had to grab some other server to get the mustard I had asked for when ordering. NEVER got water refill, hot food, a different plate.When the waitress dropped the bill I pointed out the aforementioned & she just went "Oh." If I had not been on same bill as my tablemates I would have tipped nothing. I kind of figured speaking to a manager would be pointless. Needless to say I WILL NEVER EVER return to this restaurant. I wasted money on food I barely ate and might have ingested plate chips to boot. SHAMEFUL. I wish I had taken a photo of the chipped plate, and I'm still fuming!

Imperial Gardens has been at this location for around 35 years with the current chef-owner for past 10 years or so. Most common complaints levied against family restaurant is consistency: last week or a month ago it was wonderful but when you want to show off with some out-of-town friends, it bombed!
Alex has been consistently putting out above rage to excellent dishes for past years, mostly he or his partner Sam are always on duty. The food are Cantonese with a strong Fresno accent: the use of thinly sliced jalapeños to accent the flavor. Unique!

Was craving their orange chicken. I asked our waiter if there was a combo plate of sorts.. yes, wuth soup and rice or noodles. Huge plate..enough for 2, maybe 3! Great value and oh, so good!

We have been eating here for years. Since our kids were banies. Never disappointed. My wife is very critical of chinese food esp since she is Chinese herself. We love it. Dim sum on weekends. Birthday and other celebrations there too, ordering their banquet food options. Sea bass is the best.

We have a choice of approximately 3 dim sum restaurants here in Fresno and this is one that I have been too many times and enjoy.
They have a great selection, their prices are probably lower than anyone else's as far as dim sum and the flavor is very good.
The service on our last visit was also very good. I recommend this place for dim sum

Very popular; we came on a weekend morning at 11:30 and the restaurant was already packed. The hostess gave us numbered cards as we entered a crowded lobby, in an attempt to seat us fairly. We were skipped but then when we brought the mistake to her attention, she seated us right away. Wait staff came by the tables, rolling carts laden with dishes (dim sum or small plates). The regular menu appeared to be available as well, as I saw large plates at other tables around us. For those who don't know dim sum, the menu gives photos and written descriptions. For those who do, there were the traditional favorites as well as the more challenging. All were delicious. The decor uninspired; printed photos of food in between framed Chinese pictures.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Fresno. The ambiance is that of a typical non-elaborate large-room Chinese restaurant, but the food is exceptional! They have extensive dim sum menu, though we are not great fans of dim sum. What we usually get are: appetizers- jelly fish, salt and pepper calamari; main courses- Peking duck, steamed fish, shrimp egg foo young, spare ribs in black bean sauce, and at times, the beef chow fun. All of these dishes are excellent, comparable to very good Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. The service is OK but depends on how crowded the restaurant is. We often take out food as we did last week. And we enjoyed them immensely.
