We were looking for a place to eat after hiking the sequoias of the Giant's Forest Grove in the morning and the sequoias of the Mariposa Grove in the afternoon. This was the perfectly place spot just off Hwy 41 in Fresno. They allowed our...group of 14 to get a reservation and had a space for us in a small back room. As for the food, it was awesome. I love BBQ and I had the meat 3 ways, ribs and pulled pork. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip. Service was good with food but a little slow with checks. Still this place was incredible for our party of 14.More

Been going to Westwoods for years now. I have never had a bad meal or service. In the last two years, we have gotten our food to go. The food is always in good shape when we get home (live 40 minutes away). The portions...are big, food very tasty and very reasonable. Love the rib and crispy chicken combo with the house salad. Their champagne vinaigrette is my favorite. Their curbside pick up option is very convenient. Eating in the restaurant is always fun. The vibe is robust and active. Great drinks!More

BBQ had a nice flavor and the portions were huge. Service was good considering the shortage of waitstaff. Recommend getting a reservation in advance sine one can be in for a long wait. Restaurant is larger than normal and parking can require a long walk....We had a toddler with us and the waitress was able to fulfill our needs quickly..More

I happened upon this place while visiting Fresno. The parking lot was full and the restaurant was full...so I had to try it. They have their fall items and everything looked amazing. Noelle my waitress was very friendly and helpful with so many choices! The...fall salad-Kale with sweet potatoes was SO GOOD!! I got the ribs, too. Next time I'm getting one of those desserts!!More

westwoods bbq & spice co. here in fresno, ca. I jotted down the names of four employees, kat or katerina, gena, ashley, & david. sister and I will return to dine on all the other options and choices. must have been a rare off day...for ribs, raw vegetables. The employees and other customers made up for any discomfort. I hope and pray that all employees including management are well rewarded for being willing and able to serve. To serve well is a rare trait one is not born with. specifically the saint luis ribs and the baby back ribs. no one bats a thousand. we hope too see you all again soon, marty jb & my sister. plenty more space for more words... we will wait until next time. xxMore

We visited last month (finally inside) and both enjoyed the Tri-TIp entree. Their beer and wine list is quite good. (Try the Burnt Ends too.)

Passing through Fresno and stumbled on this place. Unfortunately it's in a horribly laid-out strip mall--traffic from nearby fast-food places makes it difficult to get parking here. Looks like a basic sports bar inside, so can be loud and service can get slow during peak...periods (like when I was there). I also sat at the bar, since there was a wait for tables. I ordered the burnt ends, mac 'n cheese and fries. The beef was awesome--a big platter of hunks of fairly lean meat with a great char and tangy sauce. Best burnt ends I've ever had, and a generous portion. The macaroni was a nice surprise too. They use large tubes, which really holds the cheese sauce--again so much better than the standard mac 'n cheese you see elsewhere. Fries were good, but nothing special. They had a good selection of craft beer, but I had to settle for iced tea since I was driving. Prices are reasonable for a mid-range restaurant. Definitely a find in Fresno!More

Slow service, two glasses had lipstick on them, food was cold, had ribs and tri tip- extra salt is not a substitute for actual flavor.

Not a meat person, but enjoyed my lunch. An excellent appetizer of yam fries was followed by perfectly executed brisket of beef - the bbq sauce hit all the right flavour notes.

I'm the typical "BBQ Snob" who smokes his own and thinks it's the best on earth so I have a high standard for the few times I eat BBQ out. I'm from the south and didn't really expect to find good BBQ in California. What...a shocker...the place was over-the top good. My server, Katrina was charming, friendly and great. The pulled pork was very moist and piled high. It came with sauce on it; I should have asked first because good eat needs no sauce. THe signature sauce is a yellow mustard, not half bad. THe baked beans were crammed with meat, bacon, onions, and chopped tomatoes... a new one on me but I'll tr it next time I make the World's Best Baked Beans. White chicken chili was white beans, chicken, bacon, carrots and a few other things. It was dang good. Katrina recommended the carrot cake so I got it to go. It would have served three people. This was an excellent meal.More

We decided to change up our voluntary isolation and once a week we will order out from a new to us place. Last night was WESTWOODS BBQ. It was so easy...the help on the phone was complete, and chipper. We ordered one ribs dinner and...2 sides. The curbside pickup was so easy with minimum waiting. And minimum face to face contact. The ribs were very plentiful for us to share. But the flavor was not great for my taste buds. I prefer a juicy bbq sauce. These were a dryer Smokey flavor. Not my fav but they were not dry, meat was flavorful and again generous. The blue broccoli was a 5 star...very good. The French fries had the smoky flavor, again not my favorite but they were plentiful, fresh and reheated fine. (My husband ordered them). I’d rather select a different side from a delicious choice available. Overall this was a good start to our once a week order local take out. Try it!!!More

My husband and I are certified BBQ judges and we are very particular with trying new places. Our granddaughter was at a swim meet and it was a long day and we were craving BBQ. I asked a couple locals and hands down they said...we needed to stop here. We shared a slab of ribs and the meat was perfect which is surprising for such a big restaurant. They have many meat choices and everything that past by us looked delicious. We can't wait to go back. Enjoy!More

Unknown, as I don't check for gluten free items, however their menu has enough variety that I'm sure you could create a gluten free meal if needed.
