Great restaurant with a michelin star chef! Had a quail dish that was tender and tasty. Highly recommend this spot. Great wine pairings, little bites and entrees.

Sorry to say I would not recommend this place. The mushroom soup, tiramisu, and beef cacciatore were all disappointing. They charged us $3 per person because we reserved on open table. Never heard of that. They should have disclosed it and I would have called...in for a reservation.More

This is the best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. The flavor combinations, sauces, and spices are unparalleled. The pastas and bread are house made. The menu is seasonal, local, and far superior to the standard American style Italian. The deserts are not...to be skipped. Marry that with a great wine list, and you are in for an experience. Oh and don't forget to get an expresso cappuccino before you leave!More

Fresh, imaginative Italian creations in a casual setting. Such a refreshing change. The pasta trio was excellent, the trout superb, the squash wonderful! Small venue, great personal service.

Gosh, really want to like this place! In the neighborhood, earnest and creative owner/chef. While the outdoor patio is very pleasant on a warm evening, we hesitate to go in winter because the dining room is drafty and cold. The heater blows warm air way...overhead. Sometimes we get tempted by the classic yet innovative Italian food on offer. Next problem is the serving staff are not that knowledgeable so it is difficult to put together a well balanced dinner. Last night the problem was that 2 out of the 3 dishes we ordered were flavored the same: raw onion, tomato, and vinegar. We would have appreciated guidance toward a 3rd dish that was more rich and creamy. Also, there are 2 steaks on the menu at present and despite our probing, we could not figure out what to expect from a Denver steak! It was very flavorful, cooked to perfection (crusty on the outside, medium rare on the inside)....but quite chewy, something I don't like in a steak! Waitress described it as well marbled....what the? Will probably go back for restaurant week, nostalgic for meals of times past in northern Italy.More

We recently visited the Russian River Valley, and decided to have dinner at Canetti Roadhouse Italiana in Forestville. It was one of the highlights of our trip. What a beautiful restaurant, with a romantic garden in the back to dine under the stars if the...weather allows! The food was absolutely outstanding. The Tiramisu is to die for – so different, so very delicious. The chef, Alexandro Torre, does not only prepare excellent food, but he has the wonderful Italian way of making you feel like you belong to the Canetti family (in a good way, of course!). It was a much-welcomed difference to some of the hyped up and whatever starred restaurants in Healdsburg. We will be back on our next trip!More

Lukewarm welcome on entering. Everything served was massively over salted. One dish was sent back and compensated. Bread ordered to go with the appetizer never arrived till midway through the main and refused. Overall not a good experience, if you like your pasta over cooked...to a sludge and over seasoned you will be happy. Disappointed given the rave reviews, a million miles from authentic Tuscan food.More

Don’t let the simple exterior and interior fool you! Chef Francesco is completely in command of this restaurant and making beautiful, (and inventive!) dishes. I’ve never had a better pan roasted albacore tuna anywhere. The tiramisu for desert was like no other tiramisu I’ve ever...tasted. Bravo!More

This unassuming — almost hidden — gem in Forestville provided one of the very best meals ever: an amazing arugula salad followed by four different pasta dishes among the four friends. Delicious wine and attentive service (and great espresso, of course!). The home made pasta...is a triumph, but it is safe to say there isn’t anything on the menu that is less than perfectly composed, and brilliantly made. The chef opened the restaurant a decade ago, and it has a cult following among San Francisco and Napa.Sonoma cognoscenti. Dinner is usually packed, which makes lunch a real find — well worth the drive.More

Husband and I came in for a date night on Friday night. Super romantic setting with string lights outside in the garden. Husband cannot resist a good wine list and ordered a bottle of Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon which he had been eyeing for months. It...did not disappoint! We ordered Tuna of the Chianti and the Zucchini Croquettes from the antipasti menu, both were amazing. I ordered the King Salmon which was cooked to perfection and fresh mango sauce was a delightful compliment. Husband had the NY steak with vegetable dip, and a side of rustic fries. He devoured it and was pleased with the presentation and flavor. Ended with white chocolate Bavarian custard, espresso and a glass of muscat. We never wanted to leave! It was a perfect date night, our server was sweet and attentive. Very nice.More
