Food is good but not great. Service and patio is great. Owner tanks it for me. Very defensive about any feedback. Numerous fees at bottom of menu...which added 25% to our bill... are tacky.

I am super upset. Called weeks ago as we were going to be visiting and wanted to visit for dinner. Made a reservation for 4 for Tuesday night. Actually spoke to someone. Then, low and behold, we arrived and they are “closed”. Just for the...night. Never got a call. Never got a heads up. Now searching for another place to dine. Very upset at their customer service. (Although 3 different locals gave us a heads up about the chefs attitude so I gues it has just bled into the rest of the service.More

This is a wonderful Italian spot in a charming small town, a great spot for those visiting Russian River wineries. The service is impeccable, and the menu is a diverse blend of italian dishes. I was most impressed with the pasta, however our roast hen...& steak were also fantastic. The patio is perfect for Covid dining, and the attention to detail of each plate, shows this owner cares about what he is serving.More

Creative Italian cuisine in relaxed setting. We love to eat there: it's comfortable, casual and we love their food.

Our little town of Forestville is very lucky to have several excellent restaurants, one of which is Canetti. The food is wonderful, fresh ingredients and the chef is creative, plus a good selection of local wines along with a reasonable corkage. I definitely recommend a...trip to Forestville & Canetti!More

I had dined at Canetti's in 2016 shortly after it opened and loved my experience. This experience was the polar opposite. In 2016 the dishes were beautifully and simply presented. The flavors were subtle and tasteful. This dining experience was the other side of the...coin. The venue was fine, but the door near us had to be left open, or the aroma of fried food filled the air and was quite unpleasant. The night air made the room unpleasantly chilly, but that was better than the smell of the frier. I would have thought that they would have an adequate hood in the cooking area. Our waitress was delightful. She tried to make us feel comfortable, but was unfortunately very inexperienced and not at all knowledgable regarding the menu. This suggests a problem, more with management and lack of proper training than with the staff, as she was delightful and tried to be as helpful as possible. Our salad course was excellent, but it was downhill from there. The pasta with pesto was unnecessarily heavy. The pasta with mushroom meatballs was a disaster. The meatballs were deep-fried and burnt, appearing more like croquettes. There was no mushroom flavor at all. It tasted like fried, flavorless mush. The waitress returned to ask how we liked our meals. I told her that I couldn't eat mine, as I thought it was terrible. I hadn't eaten more than half a fried meatball. She asked, if I would like something in exchange, but returned to tell me the chef said that that would not be possible. That I would have to pay for the dish whether or not I liked it. He came to the table and was extremely rude. Telling me, in front of other diners, that the fault was mine, as I had asked for no additional salt and wanted the pancetta on the side. See photo. I was amazed. I had never been treated so rudely in a restaurant in my life. The server had to apologize to us for his inappropriate behavior. In summary, I will not return. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I don't know what happened to them, but now it is just extraordinarily heavy-handed and unnecessarily salty and oily cuisine.More

Last year we had a good dinner at Canneti, so we went back with a different couple tonight. Big Mistake! First off, when seated we noticed a small 3 inch container of what appeared to be cinnamon. Imagine our surprise when one of our party...tasted it, and found it ft be sand. Yes, sand. apparently, for decoration. Three people ordered calamari as their main course.. What came out was an extremely small, appetizer sized portion of over battered calamari. One piece actually only had batter - no calamari at all. No bread and oil/butter was offered. The waiter seemed dis-interested in anything but taking the orders...period. Lastly, when we got the bill, there was a corkage fee of $25! Stay away. You'll thank us.More

My wife and I went here with some new friends from a local winery. We shared the delicious Lamb Trio, pennette with pesto, and lemon semifreddo (for dessert). We brought our own wine to pair with the meal. Server Chris was friendly and helpful. We...dined early in the evening, so that we could finish before a large party arrived.More
