We have been going to Barefoot Cafe for at least 10 years, and the owner and chef, Tony, continues to amaze us with the very best food you can find in Marin! The freshest seafood, remarkable pastas, and the breakfasts are to die for. Last...night I had crab cakes, I'm still dreaming of them, last week I had linguine with clams, the week before we had breakfast with the fluffiest omelettes. Every single item comes out of the kitchen beautifully plated and served by the most professional and friendly staff. And now, Tony has expanded service to the new outdoor patio! Beautiful wood tables under umbrellas for us to enjoy his remarkable food during the pandemic. A true gem in Fairfax.More

This is my go-to breakfast spot and have taken many out-of-town guests and everyone has loved it. We also like a handful of other local spots, but this is by far our favorite. Very large menu especially on weekend brunch. Egg white omelets are always...especially fluffy and delicious. Friendly service as well.More

Stayed in a Air BnB behind the cafe. Enjoyed a cappuccino and a bagel with locks. Friendly service, no complaints from me.

We started off with the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were delicious, served with mixed greens, sliced apples, and topped with a spicy dressing; it could be a meal all by itself for someone. I had The seafood pasta special of the day...and it was very good. The prawns were a little dry, but everything else in the dish: pasta, sauce, mussels, clams and scallops were fine. The service was excellent. This is a nice place for dinner for two or a group.More

We attended this restaurant July 4th around 3pm after our hike to Carson Falls. It served lunch and we came just before all tables get completed occupied. We were group of 6 and we all ordered different sandwiches and burgers ( Barefoot has big selections...of sandwiches ...) . All 6 were very tasty and dishes are very large. Barefoot has big selection of California bottle beer and good lemonades. We all really enjoy our lunch hereMore

We were just wandering through and couldn't believe such a quaint restaurant in such a quaint little town (population 7500!) Could get 5 stars on TripAdvisor and still hold to 2 $$, but they did it in Spades!! First impression, walking in the door, "this...guy's a bit overdressed to be seating us...." Turns out I was right. The Head Chef greeted us at the front door, asked where we would like to sit, and wiped down our table for us. If they had been busy, and he was the only one available, I would not have been impressed. But there were no other customers, and he was Humble about it! I am seriously impressed with his servant leadership. He quietly and quickly helped all the staff anytime they needed anything, and the food, oh my goodness the FOOD!! See pictures. The food was perfectly seasoned, carefully cooked, steaming hot at the table and somehow still piping hot halfway through! The steak was perfectly cooked to our specifications, tender, juicy, my mouth's watering just remembering it. Taylor was our waiter and did a fantastic job, even though he was clearly trying to squeeze his own dinner in between. No delays, perfect food, and after we paid the Head Chef insisted we try his complementary panicotti dessert, which was heaven on a plate! In short, excellent service, high quality delicious food perfectly prepared, and a 3 course meal for 3 people for under a hundred dollars, drinks included!More

Had a yummy Saturday brunch here last week... Chilliquiles. Place was almost full. Food delicious and plentiful, though not inexpensive. Service a bit slow but gracious. Atmosphere very pleasant. I would definitely return, but be prepared to spend $20+ when coffee and tip are included.

I just had lunch at the Barefoot Cafe with a friend and it was wonderful. The food was great and the portions are ample. They serve a large and varied breakfast menu until 3pm as well as a lunch menu with lots of choices. The...service was friendly and attentive. It is definitely a great find.More
