My husband and I went for happy hour on a Friday and expected a packed house but luckily we got there early. The bartender was very nice and super busy and she made strong delicious drinks! We sat at the table behind the bar upstairs...More

The experience at the Carter House Inn Restaurant 301 was barely up to par with a couple issues keeping me from giving it a high recommendation. The interior, both the entryway, with the bar high and to the right, and the high-ceilinged dining area to...More

I always like staying here. The rooms are cozy and the restaurant is fantastic. They have a great menu and an incredible wine list. It is close to the redwoods, the ocean and some fun sightseeing. The service oriented staff is always ready to help,...More

We stayed in the hotel and I left a longer review there. The wine list is unreal, and the food was tasty, but for us the service was what really shined. Try the cioppino its great! My wife had the vegetarian risotto and loved it.

At one point, several years ago, Wine Spectator magazine rated it one of the four best restaurants in the world. It is my favorite place to go in Eureka.

Tired menu choices combined with painfully poor service. It has good reviews but I found it totally disappointing. Foodie style menu that just seems kinda tired. Half full on a Sunday evening at 7 and horribly slow service. Never asked how my food was...And then...More

My husband and I enjoyed our meals—the bread, the small-plate salads, the entrees. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The kitchen, though, is very slow. We had an 8 o’clock reservation. Our entrees were served just a few minutes before 9:30. The restaurant wasn’t full,...More

I latest experience was short of our expectations. No amuse bouche, carpaccio was lacking the horseradish sauce and duck egg, tasting menu pours were too small, burnt brussell sprouts, had to ask for bread, server did not explain the reason for the wine pairings. Delicious...More

There is no specified dress code. Eureka is a fairly casual place. So I would say country club casual. Dress varies widely the time I have eaten at 301.

There is no formal dress code. Even jeans are acceptable. I would not wear shorts, but that is my style.
