We traveled up from Mendocino to spend a few nights and visit surrounds in Humbolt County. This "parlor-lounge" establishment is fantastic...an eclectic, airy, stylish environment with tall ceilings and lots of space to roam and relax. Good house music. My senses were filled and I...loved being there. We enjoyed our cocktails and atmosphere so much, we came back another night to sample their food menu....definitely small plates although the large charcuterie board was quite good with fresh cheese, meats and other goodies. If you're thinking a traditional dinner menu, that's not the vibe. They do have one or two larger 'specials' as well but we weren't up for fish that evening. I asked to eat outside (after 3 yrs I've trained myself well) but the outside area really isn't that great and inside was so airy and big that I felt perfectly safe. Nearly everything was tasty, artful and homemade. Service was on the casual friendly side. Whoever was behind the bar on tuesday 9/20 knew his craft - delicious drinks. All I can say is I wish there was a Phatsy Kiline's where I live....yes.More

The lounge and ballroom where the bar is located are beautiful, with lots of seating to choose from. The menu is mostly small plates but they feature 2 dinner items each night. I had a grilled cheese sandwich that came with red pepper bisque and...it was okay. My husband had the flatbread and it was tasty, but very thin, and not too filling. Dessert was an apple tart, very bland. We waited over 35 minutes for our cocktails to be served and the place wasn't that busy. There are better choices around the hotel.More

We went to the restaurant in the Inn because we were staying there and frankly didn't feel safe walking around the area after dark. The police had already been to the Mission across the street twice while we were in our room so we went...downstairs hoping for the best. The service was fantastic, we were seated right away and our drink orders were quick to come to the table. Our charcuterie plater was nice and the cheeses were cut when we ordered, not done ahead of time, so they were fresh. Our meals were excellent but the very best part was the Matcha-Jasmine Creme Brulee, such a unique combination, we really did try to savor it, but it was just so good we ate it rather quickly. If we had stayed another night we would have ordered it again for sure. The only reason this isn't a five-star was the "show" we got with dinner; the police came for a 3rd time that evening to talk to the guy who was clearly on something and trying to fly with his arms out twirling around. I'm not sure I would want to eat outside around evening.More

As a part of the Inn at 2nd and C it is remarkable because one part of the restaurant's seating area is in the historic ballroom of the inn. Food was delicious: Humboldt Bay Oysters - yummi! Catch of the day was halibutt, we had...eaten halibutt frequently before, but this was not only top quality, but the seasoning was awesome and best we ever had. Drinks were fine, also price was ok. Service was very friendly.More

Not only is it a artistic vibe, a comfortable one too. During the pandemic, it's the only place in Eureka that I've felt safe dining indoors--high (stained glass) ceiling, fans, plenty of space between tables. I shared many meals and almost all were excellent. The...presentation is artful, as is the fascinating art incorporated into the Victorian's remodel. A floor made of pennies!More

The speakeasy feel matched with sophisticated cocktails and menu make this a place not to be missed in Eureka! I can’t get enough of the garlic knots to my dog’s dismay.

Everything I walk in I feel like I'm in a Disney Movie. Killer ambiance. The drink menu is top notch. The food menu I would describe as "nibbly". I dined alone and had a hard time ordering because I wanted to try everything. I settled...on Toast Points for brunch because it had sweet and savory aspects and I wasn't that hungry. The portion was larger than I expected so brunch turned into linner.More

Have drank and dined at Gallagher's several times since moving here over a year ago. Little did we know that an absolutely wonderful lounge/bar was just steps away. Saw the ad on TV and decided why not. Headed there on a quiet Thursday evening. Walking...in the door you suddenly feel you're not in Eureka anymore and the Rescue Mission isn't just across the street. Delightful decor and a great atmosphere. Bartender/Mixologist was Jake and he said he made a great Old Fashion. He was certainly right about that and served up a couple more to follow. He also had the bar knowledge to relieve my wife and I of another patron who I had mistakenly befriended and who became a bother. Always great to have a barkeep who is bar wise, captain of his ship, and commands smooth sailing. Phatsy Kline's is definitely on the top of our list of go to's for cocktails, great service, and an oasis in the midst of an unsophisticated desert. Highly recommend.More

A few of us had dinner at Gallagher's and then ventured next door to Phatsy Kline's for their Monday Open Mic night. The place was pretty full and welcoming of the musicians who stepped up to share their songs on guitar, flute, piano... it was...a little of everything and great fun. No food served here - just delicious drinks and welcomed recommendations from a very nice bartender. I know that local groups play here on occasion and that Phatsy's has fun events like "Phat Tuesday." There's a parking lot in back and plenty on the street. If you're hungry, there are a few restaurants in Old Town - go there first and then have a drink after at Phatsy's. We're going to do that again!More
