Interesting place. Typical bar food but just a little better. Service was a little slow as they were short handed but still all was good. Decent selection.

We have been going to the Denny Bar for years. At our last few visits over the past months they seem to be short staffed and the quality is not up to what it once was. Perhaps it is the impact of Covid, the current...economy and the winter months. We'll check them out again in the Spring. Fingers crossed things improve. We still recommend giving them a try. It is definitely a unique and memorable place.More

I'm happy to report that the 2022 wait-staff were very pleasant and worked in a collaborative fashion to make sure all the guests were given attention. I shared my positive feedback with Karen Greer, the manager for the evening. Our servers, Trista Russell and India...Fratus worked seamlessly together to make sure our order was taken and our dishes arrived in a timely way. Karen attended to all the little details like dimming the lights and making sure the servers were not overwhelmed. The steaks we ordered were tender and properly cooked to our wishes. Our salads were fresh & innovative. We did save room for the chocolate moose which was absolutely DIVINE! Our experience was so wonderful, we made a repeat visit. My husband and I shared a fantastic Burn in the Breeze pizza and a fresh salad so we could indulge in the yummy nectarine lavender cobbler topped with ice cream and served in a ramekin. I loved my cocktail, Lotta Crabtree! Our server, Tasha, wore a big smile and was extremely sweet. Perfect evening!More

We have been going to Denny Bar for a few years now. It is an hour plus drive for us and worth the drive. Their food and beverages are usually delicious and memorable. One suggestion would be to make sure the pizza oven is cleaned...frequently to avoid burned bits getting on the bottom of the pizzas. We will continue to patronize the Denny Bar.More

The food was out standing. Their drink menu was invented and daring. Daring in the way of adventurous. The staff provided excellent service. This restaurant is a solid 5 star. For all you cool aid drinking Covid-19 mask wearing believers. All staff were obeying mandatory...protocol.. This is a safe establishment. As good Americans we must support our local businesses. Businesses are the backbone of America. Businesses are what fuel our economy. Life is not a free government ride. Denny Bar and Distillery is a prime example of an Amazing American Business. God bless America.More

Not only was the locally brewed IPA a perfect match for a thirsty rider but the burger was perfectly done. I asked for it to be "rare as you dare" and the kitchen did just that. The sweet potato fries were top dog with "chunks"...of salt atop. The ONLY problem was that I simply could not finish the meal. The cost is excellent and I'm tempted to return to Etna if ONLY to sample more of their amazing cuisine.More

My husband & I really enjoyed this restaurant last year...visiting it twice during our stay. We made a return trip in July, 2020 during the height of Covid-19 spreading in CA. To be safe, we ordered to-go meals. When we arrived to pick up our...order, we were shocked to see lots of people waiting for tables, not social-distancing & not wearing masks. 80% of the wait staff were not properly wearing their masks...they had only their chins covered. Really? The restaurant had not reduced the number of tables nor were the tables 6 feet apart. Stunned by the lack of protocol compliance & having the staff say that they hadn’t been instructed how to wear their masks properly, we asked to speak to the Manager. We found her to be defensive, implying she was following the owner’s instructions & unwilling to make any changes to protect staff or customers. About the time my husband & I reached total frustration, two other guests approached the Manager with the very same grievances and the Manager offered the same responses. During this discussion, a passerby suggested “we all go back to where we came from”. I guess this establishment really doesn’t want tourist dollars. The very next day, Governor Newsom issued all indoor dining banned. If only more restaurants had followed safe protocols...instead of embracing greed! This was the only Etna establishment we found non-compliant. Ray’s Market, Dotty’s Restaurant, Shell Gas Station & the Etna Motel all followed Covid-19 protocols as did 5 Mary’s in Fort Jones. Before patronizing this eatery, be sure to stop by & make an assessment of the protocols. Perhaps the owner & manager have decided to implement safe protocols.More

It is hard to find fine food and drink establishments in remote rural communities, but Denny Bar Company has succeeded with distinction to bring a quality gourmet experience to such a remote community as Etna. It outshines the rest of the restaurants in Siskiyou County...and beyond. We've enjoyed several meals here both lunch and dinner. Since it is more than an hour's drive from our house we only visit it for special occasions or when we have guests or family visiting and we wish to impart a special impression on them. Since we are not connoisseurs of hard liquor, we cannot vouch for their distillery products, but they do have a good selection of beer on tap and wine.More

We have visited two times and the service is always great. Food is tasty and well presented. Nice atmosphere, wood fired oven adds character to the dining room. The historical building has been restored beautifully. Well worth the drive from Yreka.

Family local in Montague area took us here. Good food and drink. Excellent attentive service. Okay prices. Out of the way but a bright spot in this part of the world. An excellent fig bacon pizza. You'll need to wait some years for the bourbon...to come forth, though other younger spirits are available, such as gin.More

We had a family birthday dinner recently and the service was excellent, promptly seated and drink orders filled promptly and were delicious. I had the braised short ribs and they were excellent. We had six orders, all were great. The menu is limited and on...the high end which is understandable. Overall a pleasant dining experience and unique facility. It's wonderful to have this fine dining establishment in our small town!More

My husband & I had dinner reservations, but arrived early to enjoy a drink & appetizer in the bar. The friendly bartender was helpful in describing the exotic cocktails. I chose the yummy Moulin Rouge and my husband enjoyed the Angelica. We shared a generous...portion of the lovely Coconut Rice Noodle salad dotted with cheese curds for our appetizer. The bar is warm and inviting with a view of the distillery. Distillery tours are available but we just didn't have time on this visit. For dinner we were seated in a cozy corner with a personalized welcome card on our table. Our server was friendly and attentive. We chose the Fried Chicken and Braised Short Ribs...both entrees were wonderful and generous. We took left-overs. For dessert my husband & I shared a warm Strawberry Rhubarb Tart...it was absolutely divine. On our return visit we shared the Rustic Combo Wood-fired Pizza. I highly recommend reservations.More

Denny Bar Co. would hold it’s own any day with the...Bay Area. Staff is friendly and professional. Ambiance is solid and comfortable. Love this place!More
