We live about ten miles away and had heard of the Hernandez Hideaway for years but just hadn’t made the effort. Yesterday, we enjoyed the drive through Rancho Santa Fe and past Lake Hodges to the restaurant. To make a long story short we left...More

Hernandez Hideaway .... a place I love coming to, and I have selfishly keep to myself until now. Toss on some jeans and a ball cap or showup in a business suit, it doesn't matter. The vibe is casual and laid back and you will...More

This was a great hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. And I learned that the name sake created the margarita! Yummy enchiladas with fresh avocado. Delicious!

We stopped in for dinner after a 7 mile hike and were very satisfied with sharing their carnitas plate. I am celiac so they were very accommodating with serving me corn tortillas and my husband flour. The meat was moist and very tender. Delicious.

The restaurant is across the street from Lake Henshaw where you can walk off the abundant and tasty food. It is a local restaurant with the charm that makes you want to return. We had brunch choices from a variety from which to choose. The...More

The food and service were excellent, and we were very surprised. We hadn’t been there in years, because it had gone downhill, but stopped anyway. It was really good. We enjoyed it a lot!

Had to try it once - very eclectic location and nice people. Food was very average though. So all in all it was worth a visit once.
