Went there last week. Fun local restaurant and bar. Very different that most Mexican Restaurants in San Diego. Good basic home style food. Beef tacos, yes....

Cold food, dirty restrooms. Lots of loud regulars at the bar. Skip it; there are much better Mexican restaurants in Escondido or over near the beach.

We live about ten miles away and had heard of the Hernandez Hideaway for years but just hadn’t made the effort. Yesterday, we enjoyed the drive through Rancho Santa Fe and past Lake Hodges to the restaurant. To make a long story short we left...More

Hernandez Hideaway .... a place I love coming to, and I have selfishly keep to myself until now. Toss on some jeans and a ball cap or showup in a business suit, it doesn't matter. The vibe is casual and laid back and you will...More
