Love the atmosphere and food at this classic, cozy, Victorian tea house. Always a nice selection of sweets and savories.Complete list of tea choices, both with and without caffeine.Hats are available to wear during tea. High tea competitively priced. Presentation is beautiful. Wait staff dressed appropriately in black and white. Very friendly. One large table available for parties. One small... More

Thank you for your nice words. Sounds like you had a nice time. I was so thankful that my husband was able to help that day. We had a family medical emergency and I had to leave unexpectedly. I'm always at the front desk greeting my guests and all dressed up for tea. Poor Bob didn't have time to go... More

I have been to several teas and this is a nice spot away from the hustle and bustle of Escondido. The tea was good the food was ok. We had the full tea and you are given one taste of three finger sandwiches, very small dollops of a few desserts (see pics). As a fun thing to do with kids... More

I love tea rooms and always enjoy finding a new hidden treasure. The Grand Tea Room is no exception; a beautiful interior with multiple choices for high tea. The tea selection was expansive and the menu items tasty and beautifully presented.

My daughter and I love tea, so every few months we try a new tea house in Southern California. This was our first time at The Grand Tea Room. Service started out a little slow, by the time they started seating us, the very small front room was uncomfortably packed with people waiting to be seated. The tea room itself... More

If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and go. The tea room is charming and the food is presented with flair. We just attended the most delightful evening of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. A full night of entertainment and more than your money's worth! Go for lunch with the girls or like I did...a romantic afternoon... More

This is an adorable tea house/room. It is decorated Victorian style and is so quaint. The staff is friendly and the food divine and of course delicious teas! They offer plays and teas at certain times of the year. A great tea experience!

Went to the Grand Tea Room for a baby shower last weekend. It was such a lovely little establishment. You walk into the front door which puts you in the gift shop. Soooo many cute trinkets!! I bought the prettiest little tea set & a delicious creme brûlée tea. A bit pricey, but worth it. Our two hour tea/baby shower... More

We recently attended the Downton Abbey themed tea day and it was a delightful experience to celebrate my Mother's birthday. We had a really good time. There was great effort put into the day by the staff. The food is all miniature finger sized dishes and really did taste great. I can't say that I was "stuffed" after eating all... More

My wife loves English tea rooms, so I surprised her with a visit to the Grand Tea Room. My experience in tea rooms is minimal (I was the only man out of 20 people there) but it seemed to have excellent service and a good choice of teas. Most of all my wife was happy.

We celebrated our friend's birthday at the Grand Tea Room recently in the heart of old town Escondido. I was impressed with their presentation and the decor. A very nice selection of teas that was served in beautiful cups with your choice of two teas for our table of 5. Definitely enough food with two different tea sandwiches but the... More
