This small family owned restaurant is a hidden gem. Perfect for a family meal or a quick in and out bite on your lunch time. The food is great and the prices are extremely reasonable. I had a lunch special of a pulled pork sandwich, a side of coleslaw and a drink for $6.59. The barbecue sauce comes on the... More

A nice simple place with fast service, good food, parking in front, very reasonable price, and very friendly staff. Recommend for lunch, the special is why I go there.

This restaurant is in a rather run down strip mall, and I wasn't expecting a whole lot. BUT...we were hungry, and since we didn't know the area (we were vacationing at the Welk resort nearby), we just took a chance on it. I was so happy with the quality of the food that I actually went back a second time... More

The Wrangler has been a Valley Parkway restaurant for as long as I have lived in Escondido (35+ years) and I believe even before me. Family-owned.....slow cooked ribs, beef, ham....good Family Feast to share in the restaurant...or take home like we do...

I've eaten at the Wrangler probably twenty times. It's a great little place for lunch. The decor is beyond simple, and could maybe use upgrades, but does have cute pig and cow decorations scattered about. The menu is not extensive, but what they do serve they make REALLY well! The pulled pork is amazing, and not full of fatty chunks.... More

The Wrangler has been in Escondido for many, many years. I have been going there for at least 40 years. They have wonderful barbecue beef, ham, and pulled pork. The meat is very tender. Their sides are delicious, too. My favorites are the coleslaw and the bbq beans. You order and pay at the counter, then they bring the food... More

I usually just stop in and get sandwiches to go. Always good food and reasonable. If you have the time to eat in I suggest the sandwich plate with several good choices with the sandwich.

I have been coming here for 25 years. It is consistently the BEST barbque in North San Diego County. The meat, especially the pork, is super tender, unlike a well-known chain barbque place that has pork that looks and tastes like over-cooked string. The Q sauce is sweet and mild, which is what I like, I do not care for... More

This is an institution has been around for years, ownership changes have effected quality and cleanliness of the place. It's okay, the service is unfriendly, the food is dry this is not Texas BBQ so go with that in mind.

We have driven by here a number of times over the years, finally decided to stop in for dinner. My wife ordered the half and half, (pulled pork and ham), I had the sampler plate (ham, ribs). For sides we both got salads and onion rings. The good parts of the meal: the service - a wonderful lady served us... More
