Classic Peruvian dishes at this cozy, comfy spot right on the 101 in Encinitas

Classic Peruvian cuisine executed with flourish. The house made Empanadas are baked to perfection. The Aji de Gallina is prepared with a creamy delicious Amarillo sauce. The restaurant also features a superb selection of South American wines.

As we were exploring Encinitas, we happened across El Q'ero, a Peruvian restaurant. The ambiance was cozy, warm, and artistic, with interesting paintings to look at. Although it is a small space, it is very colorful and inviting. The service was excellent, and the mother-daughter team answered all our questions, and the appetizers and meals were served quickly. The food... More

I really like this place! I've had them cater evens at my house and its always a hit. The warm Q'ero salad is a must. They don't serve hard alcohol, but have beer and wine. Must try for something different!

We booked a Friday night table at El Q'ero whilst staying in Encinitas and we were impressed with the quality of the food. The squid starter was absolutely amazing and would highly recommend if you enjoy seafood. We had traditional Peruvian main courses which were very tasty and authentic. El Q'ero is a tiny restaurant so you may need to... More

El Q'ERO Peruvian restaurant in Encinitas Ca is very good. Always has been very good and continues to separate itself from the many restaurants in the area by being consistent ,innovative and delicious. The original location is small ,intimate and charming. They have a new larger location nearby but I prefer this location especially for a date night out with your... More

Fabulous, freshly made Peruvian cuisine! The calamari was absolutely delicious. Not a place for kids, they really had a hard time finding something they liked. But for adults it is a great experience and they go out of their way to make your meal enjoyable and make suggestions!

When it first opened, it was almost impossible to get a table so I was surprised that I succeeded the same day (a Saturday night!) We soon discovered that they have now opened a sister restaurant, Casa Del Q’uero on Birmingham Drive, Cardiff, behind the gas station. The El Q’uero now only offers smaller plates of food for sharing whereas... More

Have been going here for years, and the food is amazing. We go as a group for a Christmas present to each other. We bring a nice bottle of wine and pay the corkage fee, and share a ton of great food. Totally a great experience!

The food is absolutely delicious! The ceviche is not to be missed! Reservations are necessary or else you'll never get a table. The restaurant is TINY. I would have given this 5 stars, except the last time we dined there, we felt like we were rushed. It's not a place where you are welcome to sit, relax and sip your... More

Small and cozy, a reservation is a must. The food is superb, but the kitchen is slow. I was patient as all good things take time. Base on reviews I read prior to trying this place, I sampled a few things. Everything was delicious. It's a no frills setting with a lot of street traffic, so sidewalk seating is not... More
