On our last trip to SD, we rented a car for one day, mostly to go to Juanita's. The ambience and dining room are nothing fancy, but the tacos/burritos are out of this world.

We lived in Leucadia for several years and then relocated to Northwest. We were visiting family in Rancho Bernardo, but chose to stay in our old "stomping grounds" and had to visit our favorite taco shop - still as good as ever! Although the lady scares me when she shouts out the orders :)

I had for different kinds and the were all good. Pastor and chicken were my favorites. Guac was also worth adding on.

Huge chimichangas! If you get the combination, you'll get cooked beans and rice, as well a little tomato, onions and avocado salad. The tacos are small, but filling. Everything was yummy! Loved the Jamaican hibiscus icetea.

Whether you live here or are visiting the North County Coast, a stop to Juanitas is a MUST! I live here & frequent this taco shop for the best fish tacos & an orange bang! (Like an orange Julius or creamsicle) all their food is Delish! Don't be surprised if there's a wait out the door, do yourself a favor,... More

Good quality authentic Mexican selections in this truly no frills setting reminiscent of Mexico's roadside stand cuisine.

We have been coming here for 15 years when in town visiting. It is quick, cheap and fills our tummies! We like to sit outside on the picnic tables.

Had heard that Juanitas was terrific. When I tried to eat here a couple times before, there was was a line out the door. It's a spotlessly clean, no frills restaurant with seating inside and out. Guessing they have a huge take out business with two major beaches nearby. Ordered two chicken tacos which come with beans and rice. Everything... More

It's a dive, but has good food! If you want to eat a a truly "locals' Mexican taco shop, I suggest you stop at Juanita's. I order the fish plate and make tacos out of the beans, rice & fish. It's enough for two people to share. Truly authentic. Outdoor picnic bench seating.
