The food was fresh and well-prepared and the servers were helpful and entertaining. The dishes didn't have the exquisite & subtle flavors I had hoped for, but we enjoyed them.

We both had the pad Thai -- it was okay. It was fresh but had an odd flavor to the sauce. The service was good and the place is cute and clean. I would try again but get something else.

We've been making this an annual stop for a meal since we started coming to the north-of-San Diego area several years ago. Siamese Basil is a no-frills, informal family-run restaurant with delicious, fresh and well-prepared food. Try the Thai Eggplant Special for a real treat.

This is a regular staple in our diners out. The kids love the red curry and the "chicken on a stick"

My wife and I were visiting a childhood friend of mine and his wife for dinner and he suggested this restaurant. It wasn't hard to find but tucked into a downtown area with several other restaurants close by. The place is small, with maybe 15 tables and it could use a face lift, but it was clean. Our waiter was... More

My wife and I went to Siamese Basil for lunch last week. We didn't get sick but found the food, service and décor to be on the poor side. Of the 10 of 15 Thai restaurants we have been to this was the least good, but far from the least expensive. We won't try it again.

Nice staff / very helpful and friendly. The food was nice. We shared a big pot of tum yum with nice flavors. I asked for 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 and it had a real kick. We shared pad Thai and chicken green curry ( both 5 on the 1-10 scale ). The pad thai was a... More

A trip to Encinitas wouldn't be complete without a visit to Siamese Basil. It hasn't changed much and if you're looking for fancy, high end cuisine you won't get it here. What you will get, however, is beautifully cooked food with amazing depth of flavour, nice size portions making excellent value for money. Great service and really consistent quality. After... More

Always a place to go for a nice and comforting dinner! Price is affordable but they are not open all nights and you need to reserve beforehand.
