Really, if you were walking up the street, odds are that you'd pass by without noticing it there unless you have a good sense of smell. There are two entrances to Wally's Cafe, and neither grab your attention. Best option is to go into and though a dive bar called "Bank Club" (I believe). At the very back of the... More

Visiting family, looked for a quick casual lunch spot. GREAT spot for lunch, dinner, whathaveyou. Some of the best Lebanese food ever. Shawarma, dolmas, babaganoush, lentil soup. Yes yes yes. The whipped garlic garnish was unbelievable. More please. Do yourself a favor, eat here now!

Wally's in tucked in behind a bank/bar and is your best bet for low key, low ambiance, high quality food with like-minded folks.

Hidden treasure. We were nearby and stop to have dinner. We ask for Falafel plate which came with hummus, salad and pita. While we wait for our main course, they offer us an entree of lentils & rice soup. And to finish... Baclava! Excelent & tasty food, fast service and reasonable price. Must visit if you like mediterranean food.

Go here. Seriously, it's awesome. As soon as you sit down you get lentil soup and at the end of your meal you get home made baklava (the best I have ever had!) for free! The Greek food is delicious but plot twist the Cheeseburger is the best I've had. And as a bonus Wally, the owner, and his family... More

Good Mediterranean food. They gave us soup and baklava, included in the price. Friendly service too.

After a busy afternoon of eating edibles and trippin' around the Berkeley pier, hunger appeared out of nowhere (my partner said no more candy). So we managed to find our vehicle and take the 3.5 mile journey down San Pablo Avenue. On the way we spotted Mr. Gus and the Weird Man walking in the opposite direction; is this backwards... More

This place has it all. It's a Lebanese diner with the best food and best service and ambiance ever. Also, if you are visiting from out of town. You gotta go. It's a total locals joint with a great cross section of Oakland folks. You should not miss Wally's when you come to town.

I've been going to Wally's for about 5 years now and love the meats and rices you get there. I'm partial to either the shawarma and chicken pomegranate plates. They really load the to-go containers with delicious pilaf, salad and lots of meat. I'm a huge fan of the lentil soup that come with each meal as well. If I'm... More
