We visited this restaurant on a weekday in June. It was fairly busy and we were sat in a booth. Our waiter acted like he was bothered to serve us. His mask was under his nose. When he finally brought the bread basket, it had...four rolls and there were five of us. The appetizers were great but the mains were under-seasoned [Ahi Ahi plate] and over saturated with other ingredients [the halibut]. We ordered a great wine but overall the service and food were meh...More

Usually a treat to visit the Brig, a local favorite, but not this time. Had spacing for the pandemic, which would have been fine if we were seated on the upper decks with views of the race track, Del Mar beach and south to La...Jolla. We were down the stairs on the lawn in the back, with a view of a hedge. Portable TV screens were placed inside and outside, for racing season. We could hear the announcer call the race, even though the stands were empty. Diners included an eclectic array of horse people (owners, staff, trainers, friends).
Very slow service. Didn’t get bread for more than 20 minutes. Then salads after 30 minutes. Enjoyed the Brig House Salad ($7.75), with dried cranberries, candied pecans, hearts of palm, crumbled blue cheese in mixed baby lettuces, in a house vinaigrette. The Wagyu burger ($17.50) was fine, but the French fries were fat and soggy (the server recommended asking for curly or other frieds). The seasonal scallop dish ($29.50) had small portions and the scallops were undercooked.
Need to give it another try and ask not to be in the hole again.More
We stopped in for lunch and after a wait, they wanted to seat us back to back with another booth. Being at risk, we declined and they found a seat outside. The food was good, but not worth getting sick for.
A local favorite! I go here quite frequently and have never been disappointed by their menu. Whether you're looking for seafood, a burger, or pasta you'll always get a tasty dish. My personal favorite are their grilled fish tacos and shrimp cocktail. I also highly...recommend getting a skinny margarita from the bartender Jay, he's the best!More
Having traveled many places in and outside the US, our server Trent, gave us world class Service and Food recommendations-And the food was delicious! When we travel back to San Diego, even if we stay in Coronado or downtown, we will be sure to go...out of our way to visit this location again. Trent even went above and beyond to make a list of must-see’s while we were here. Five Stars all around!!! Thank you Trent!More
The two or three I have visited in San Diego County have proved to be consistent in the amount and quality of food, service somewhat slow from time to time, but we usually are there at the lunch or dinner hour, which is expected and...the wait is not unreasonable.More
