This is a nice restaurant on the beach in Delmar California. The bartenders have to be some of the nicest bartenders in all of San Diego County! They will bring you back in just to sit and be entertained. The bar-life is very lively and enjoyable. The food on the menu is very public with a few seafood dishes. Not... More

Easy to park valet service. Kind welcoming staff. Very interesting food choices. Good food at prices to be expected in Del Mar. Very nice choice for a first time visit or a special family event. Very easy access from the 15. Just a mile or so from Del Mar Racetrack. Well worth stopping by to enjoy life here.

Found the Gem of a spot. Beach watching at its best. Watch the waves, the surfers and the families all at the same time. The fish is so yummy and fresh. The sandwich and the truffle fries oh so good. Amazing bloody Mary's that are worth the wait at the bar for a table with an ocean window. We will... More

We were seated by the window as the sun set, great waiter, and food was delicious. As other travelers to this area know, parking can be a challenge, but Jakes has valet parking at a reasonable rate.

Great location! Right on the beach. You will need a reservation during the summer. Food was very good but a bit sparse and overpriced BUT you are paying for the ambience. Worth a try!

Friends recommended that we go to Jake's, and we get the impression that it's the best eatery in the area. The place was packed, and we definitely recommend making reservations a week in advance. We got a nice table overlooking the ocean and the beach, and the staff was very friendly. There were minor issues with the service, e.g., bringing... More

Jake’s Del Mar brings new American cooking to the edge – to the water’s edge that is. Located right on the beach in Del Mar Chef Duvinh Ta uses fresh, seasonal products as the inspiration for updating classic preparations of fresh fish, shellfish and premium meats. The lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch menus showcase clean, eclectic flavors and local, sustainable products that are complemented by Jake’s jaw dropping location on the sand. The nightly Chef’s Special is a seasonal creation that features the best seafood, meats and produce available and through the Legacy of Aloha program, Jake’s donates a portion the proceeds from the Chef’s Special to the San Diego Food Bank.
