This Coffee Bean is next to a full serve car wash, so you have a cozy place to wait for your car. The cafe is light and airy. There is outside seating, but it is in the shade and the breeze. They offer a great...selection of teas - more than most coffee shops.More

My husband and I pulled into the large Del Mar Center, looking for an independent coffee shop, but only found The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a part of a chain. I opted to give up our search and go in because it was a...very hot Saturday afternoon, and I yearned for an iced coffee drink. My husband chose a hot chai tea latte and I selected a small iced mocha. Though the employee taking our order and the barista, who filled it, were friendly and upbeat, someone goofed. I ended up with a hot mocha. The mix-up was rectified immediately, but then I received mostly ice. Five sips through a straw and the decidedly average mocha was gone. A bit pricey at about 75 cents a sip. My husband found his drink to be tepid and to have too much milk in it. At mid-afternoon, four other customers sat in the shop and a few came and went with orders to go. The spacious room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with many coffee and tea products for sale on shelves. This was our first visit to a Coffee Bean and will likely be our last. We found nothing compelling to bring us back. We spend a lot of time in Seattle yearly, and I think we've been spoiled by the abundance of excellent coffee shops and roasters there.More

Great alternative to Starbucks. Good coffee with a smile and several pastries, muffins and bagels to choose from

Went at 5:30 am. Everyone was friendly. Coffee and a jalapeno bagel. Under $3.50. I am not one of those fancy drink drinkers so I don't know how those are but the coffee was good.

This is by far my favorite place to get a Chai Tea Latte-they also have really nice snack items for anytime.

I just went there today, they are so helpful in selecting different types of coffees or coffee machines. I prefer this place to Starbucks.

Don't waste your money and time at Starbucks, go strait to coffee bean and enjoy a sugar free vanilla late with 3/4 of powder. It is magnificent! If vanilla is not your "cup of tea", then ask for the month's special or order any of...their teas!More

I really knew what I was looking for so I did not need much help. After I selected the coffee bean the cashier, having said that she was quite new, got help from a more experienced staff. They ground the beans and sealed them up...with a complimentary scoop. Offered a free tea or coffee. All very, very nice.More

Service was great, food and coffee were very fresh. Bagels were real tasty. They have a lot of teas and coffee to choose. Baked goods also.
