Our "Anniversary" Pizza was Delicious!

Because of covid 19, we were unable to go to a fine steak restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Instead, we decided to get take out at Del Mar Pizza. The staff was so kind, adding two large chocolate chip cookies just out of the oven to help us celebrate this important milestone. The pizza had quality ingredients and was delivered hot. Surprisingly, the delivery person also wished us a happy anniversary. Thank-you Del Mar Pizza for making this evening special!

Great To Go Of Pasta Dinner & Sandwich For Lunch

Just stopped in for to go of pasta dinner of penne (sauce choices were marinara, bolognese, butter and pesto) with garlic bread & salad (choice of cesare or chopped italian) and a chicken club sandwich. Service was super good, pasta was good sized and tasty according to our daughter. Chicken club was one of the best I've ever had with awesome toasted bread. Had a draft pint of lager while waiting, total was $32.00.

A fantastic small but mighty pizza joint!

Del Mar Pizza is a terrific little pizza joint! Their staff is friendly and attentive. Service is speedy! And their pizzas are tasty! We stopped by twice when visiting Del Mar and ordered pizzas to go both times. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, we waited just 10-15 minutes for our orders. The pizzas were perfect - thin crust, slightly charred, and flavorful.

Take out. One size pizza or by the slice only. Mediocre pizza and very over priced $5 per slice. I tried to add mushrooms to a pre made slice & was told the mushrooms won’t cook. I thought we all ate raw mushrooms in sales etc. Besides, what pizza shop doesn’t offer a pizza with mushrooms. Obviously this one. The clerk had a attitude but noticed he left after I ordered. Maybe a bad day? Next time I’ll go to Il Fornaio across the street for a pizza to go. It’ll cost the same but better quality.

Big disappointment after 35 years as a customer

I have been coming to Del Mar every year for at least 35 years (except 2020 due to Covid) and have always walked up from the beach or park and had great pizza. Before my experience of today I would have given them 5 stars. Today I ordered my usual slice and it was so hard I went back and asked for another slice. When he brought it it was nearly the same. Hard on the bottom and almost no cheese and totally dry. I even tried to scrape the cheese off the pizza and it would not come off. I don't know if this is new management or they are simply going to use Covid as an excuse to cut the ingredients that makes good or great pizza. Sorry but I will not be returning.

BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD ON VACATION

We were looking for some quick food after a long day at the San Diego Padres game and on Coronado Island. We were staying in the Del Mar area so we decided to see what was near our hotel. I came across Del Mar Pizza and the reviews I read were good so we thought why not give them a try. We are from Chicago so we don't usually get pizza in other states that we enjoy UNTIL NOW!! This pizza was absolutely delicious. It had a great crispy crust that is thin. Although it's not a gooey cheese topping, there is something about the seasonings of the cheese and the sauce that kept drawing us back for more. The crunch of the crust was fantastic! You can choose between slices or full pizzas. We also tried the meatball sandwich as well as the cheesy bread. Now, the cheesy bread is where you have the gooey cheese that you might normally expect on your pizza. Really good. I enjoyed the meatball sandwich but I would not order it over the pizza. It is a small place with a few tables inside and outdoor seating as well. The place was really clean inside and the workers were friendly and really attentive to wiping down tables as soon as people left. I would not normally ever do this but I felt it was warranted. Before we left I went to the counter to speak with who might be in charge to let them know that we are from Chicago so admittedly a bit of pizza snobs and that this pizza was fantastic!! We visited Del Mar Pizza 2 more times before we left the area and it still left me wanting more. Make sure to check them out when you're in town. You shouldn't be disappointed!!!

The best Pizza I ever had!

Stopped in to Del Mar Pizza for dinner. I got the meat lovers pie with mushrooms. We sat outside. There were heaters that made it very enjoyable. The pie came out and it was the best Pizza I have ever had. Loaded with meat, the crust was absolutely perfect. The tastiest part was the sauce. Most tomato sauces usually just hang back there with the basil etc. Not this sauce. It was bursting with a tomato taste i have never experienced before. Absolutely delicious.

Crispy, Thin Crust.

Their thin crust pizza is crispy, tasty deliciousness! I like to hit them up around lunchtime for a slice and a cold IPA draft. Outside seating has ocean views and usually perfect weather. The prices are not ridiculous and the staff is friendly and acommodating. It’s a great place for people watching the mix of tourists and beach freaks in Del Mar while taking in as tasty bite.

So Satisfying

Stopped by for some pizza after exploring Torrey Pines. Heavens, but this is good pizza. We each chose a different slice and also ordered a whole pizza (that we figured we’d take home with us). The pizza guys let you do half and half, so we ended up with a Mexicano and Pesto pizza… which we totally devoured. The crust is thin and buttery and amazing. Also shared a Caesar salad with my husband. What a satisfying meal. Love the low key vibe of the place, too.

Good pizza, but pricey

Like almost everything in Del Mar, this pizza is pricey. We did take out twice, ordering pizza, salads, and meatballs. Portions were generous- salads could definitely be shared.

Good pizza but way overpriced

Call me cheap but I'm not used to paying $27 for a carryout two item pizza (only have one size). Good thin crust, decent amount of cheese and I liked the sausage.

Tasty thin pizza, very good wings, and great salads. Friendly and efficient service. If it's too crowded, get your stuff to go and take it down to the beach to eat.
