During our three day visit to Dana Point we ate at Taco Surf twice and had great food both times. The salsa served with the chips is quite tasty. The tacos are excellent with our groups assorted of chicken, Baja fish and vegetarian. The black beans are vegetarian and no problem substituting for the refried. The house margaritas are good... Now that Pacific Coast Highway through Dana Point has two way traffic you are more likely to see this great spot for Mexican food. Taco Surf sets back a bit from the road so go slow or you might miss it. It is totally California casual. Great place to go and eat, have a few beers and talk about a... More

Taco Surf has a cool vibe inside, but it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon so we choose to sit out on the patio. I ordered one carnitas and one asada soft taco. They were both great but the carnitas was especially delicious! There was lots of meat, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo and even some guacamole on it for only... More

This could be the least crowded restaurant on pch on a Saturday night and it's not horrible . I'm sure most of the folks here are local and have decided that great good or not this is their spot . I found the good to be average it was fresh but pretty standard , portions were large and service was... More

The food is consistently good at Taco Surf and the portions are HUGE. I had the regular wet burrito with carne asada and it was very filling. I finished most all of it but left some rice and tortilla because I was stuffed. The sauces and mix of asada were delicious. We had a large group and there was no... More

Taco Surf has been my go-to place for a Mexican "fix" in Dana Point for the past 8 years, or so. The chips and salsa are fresh and quite good, the margaritas excellent, and the food really good for what they offer. I love the Brandy's salad, shrimp and calamari tacos and wet burritos. There is a small patio that... More

We stopped in for an early dinner, place was empty and waitress seemed like she would rather be somewhere else... Tacos were superb and Nachos huge. Has more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant and could see that it would be great when full.

I was brought here by a friend and it was about as awful a place as I have ever had the misfortune to patronize. The place was dirty. My water glass had brown spots on it and I am amazed that I actually stayed to consume anything. But I did. Guess I deserved the indigestion. The food was greasy, lardy... More

I was in Dana Point last week and took advantage of their daily happy hour. Runs from 2-5. First day had the tacos carnitas for $1.50 each. Fabulous. Small and spicy. Had $3.00 draft beer. Very nice. Second time I went I had the crispy ground beef tacos. As good as I've ever had. One small point - we went... More
