Comfortable and convenient breakfast near Helms Bakery

We were going to the stores in the old Helms Bakery District buildings but they were not open early in the AM. We were looking for a good place to have a hot cup of coffee, orange juice and a pastry. We found all of these items at La Dijonaise. The walk up counter for carry out was very... read more

Three of us had breakfast January 28. Two of us had the 3 egg omelet and the other had the vegetable quiche. Omelets we served with fruit and a fresh salid. All were excellent. Very large portions, almost too much. Service is very friendly and fast. A nice family atmosphere with many return customers. Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch.... More

Visited this restaurants with friends. I ordered a "medium rare" rib eye steak. It was the most unappetising steak I've ever eaten. It was grey (no chargrilled on it at all) overlooked, no seasoning, it tasted boiled??? I didn't make a fuss because this is our friends favourite restaurant. Normally I would have sent it back and ordered something else!... More

This is not a lengthy review of La Dijonaise because we actually didn't have an entire meal. We stopped in for coffee as we were about to do some shopping. It is a lovely cafe with many comfortable tables on the patio and clean, fresh looking tables inside. There were many groups and couples enjoying everything from entire meals to... More

French family living in California, we came here to get some French specifics. Not disappointed, I enjoyed the merguez sandwich like which reminded me of my barbecues in France...

We came to the restaurant twice in a week because it made such an impression the first time. I guess we lucked out with the timing because the place was relatively empty for brunch and dinner- the both times we went. The food was amazing and the service was on top of things at each sitting. We never even got... More

What a lovely surprise. I went to Helms District with a friend to show her around and she chose La Dijonaise. When i got the menu I was so pleasantly surprised by the lovely selection of food and prices. Since Santa Monica is so overpriced for so little I was genuinely smiling for once. Excellent sandwich and a glass of... More

The seared ahi tuna appetizer with avocado was exquisite, and their quiche Lorraine can't be beat! The desserts are scrumptious, and the ambiance open and welcoming. Best of all, the quality never varies: it's alwa top notch!
