Stopped here for dinner - we were going to go to Fathers Office but decided on this place after reading the reviews. It's a little further out of downtown Culver but we enjoyed the food - we had burgers and fries which were lovely. Drinks are a bit pricey (hubbies beer was $11 which might be usual for LA but... We went there the evening of New Year's Day. Many restaurants closed. Very busy. Too cold to sit in outdoor portion of restaurant. Hostess, Joy, was very accommodating, even offering to bring us some food before we passed out from hunger. After a long wait (right behind the hostess stand), we finally got to have a very nice dinner. Salmon... More

The quinoa breakfast bowl was filling and flavorful. I think the wait was a little long though. My friend thought the coffee was too strong but I like strong coffee, so it was made just right for me.

Joy happily greeted and invited me to review the Menu and extensive Beer/Cocktail offerings. Not a regular beer drinker, I asked about purchasing "a taste" of 2 interesting sounding beers. She graciously offered me a free sample of each. The Pineapple beer was yummy, while not being too sweet. The Turkey Burger with ground turkey, white cheddar, alfalfa sprouts, tomato,... More

Went here with my wife for a late dinner. It was basically empty inside with some patrons sitting outside. We both had cheese burgers which were rather large, very juicy and good. Wait staff was very friendly. Interesting decor. Scraped wood and brick walls. They have outside seating with gas heaters when it's cool out. Overall not a bad place.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the City Tavern. The food was very bland (vegetarian burger, tacos, and crab cakes) and came out slightly cold. My cocktail was the best part of the meal. I can see how it is a good bar (ambiance and good drinks) but I would pass on the food.

Very crowded - means popular, old world charm, and attentive staff. Best chardonnay experience in a beautiful glass.

Once, twice, three strikes, they're out. Far too many similar pubs in Culver City with way better food and service. Also, the outside terrace often smells of urine so I'm not sure if they hose patio regularly, one of the nicer features of restaurant is outside dining.

I only go to the Culver City location, so i don't know about downtown.. but I can say that City Tavern is one of my favorite places in LA, and is usually the first stop I make when I get in to town. Beer and liquor selection is vast, and the bartenders are the most knowledgable in the business. Seriously,... More

I ate here with my in-laws before catching a show at the Kirk Douglas. We arrived fairly early in the evening and it wasn't too busy, mostly people arriving for after work drinks. I ordered a cheese burger, which was served with fries. It was very good. My father-in-law had fish and chips, which he enjoyed. I can't remember what... More
