About
The Black Beach restaurant and coffee house is located in one of the most amazing nature highlights of the south, Reynisfjara. In a short walking distance from the basalt formations and the cave Halsanefshellir the restaurant offers a breathtaking view of Dyrholaey and the ocean. The restaurant was built in 2014 and is an architectural beauty where the building blends into the terrain and rocks from the beach were used as building material in the walls. The coffee house offers; hot soup, freshly made cakes and sandwiches, local discs such as waffles with local ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and tea. The restaurant offers traditional Icelandic food like lamb, beef and fish. We offer free wifi

I was expecting more. This was one time I didn't visit Trip Advisor before arriving and won't make that mistake again. The Black Sand Beach is such a gathering spot that I would have expected an elevated spot for eating - figuratively, not literally. Walk...More

You have to try the Skyr cake if you go to this restaurant. It is delicious! We were so glad we tried this!

Way to touristy - and not that great food. We had a burger and fries. the bun was dry and fell apart, but the meat was okay. Not the best. but the service and staff were friendly. but because of the overcroudedness the restaurant had...More

Expensive very simple snack food (fries and others), but this is unfortunately one of the very few restaurants along the coast, both ways from Vik, so consider a stop here at lunch time.

The turnip and sweet potato soup was just what I needed to warm me up after a cold, damp and windy walk on the black sand beach. The description of the soup does not do it justice - it was hot, thick and well spiced...More

The service is counter order, the food is just OK and pricey even for Iceland. I ate all of my Arctic char, the kids had most of their burgers, Wife just nibbled and said she'd be tough until we get to Reykjavik. I would NOT...More

Our experience in this place was good, my wife loved the steak there, nice ambiance, the staff was good but looked tired as we had a late dinner there, but we have enjoyed the our dinner and was a good value for money.

I got the fish and chips, which was absolutely amazing! I had originally wanted the lamp soup, but they were sold out, which is fair given it was 3:30pm, well past lunch. The restaurant is basically on the beach, so you have a nice view...More

Hey, when you are hungry and thirsty and need to use the restroom, do you complain and pan a place because the food is not incredible? Do you complain when it provides all the basic needs? NO. This restaurant is good and decent and worth...More

We were famished as we arrived at the black sand beach and needed food. The restaurant was incredibly disappointing after our long drive. First - the bathrooms are out of order! Then, a long line plus limited menu at cafe (even given the somewhat promising...More
