I have been eating at Northwoods since I was a child back in the 1960's. The food is amazingly good and you get large portions. The steaks, halibut, lobster, scallops are sooooo good. Everything is really good. I've never had a bad meal there. The salads, red and green are the best. The cheese bread is to die for. You... More

Great place to go when the weather is creeping up in the 90's & 100's. Airconditioner is the gratest

My kids and I went for lunch the other day. You usually eat in the waiting area by the bar early in the day. I am assuming if this is where they start out new waiters and waitresses before they go to the dinner service. We got this new guy and our service was horrible. We asked for the salad... More

First time for me and soooo good! Signature dishes are the cabbage salad, huge stuffed potato with cheese butter. I had porterhouse and my wife had filet. Perfect!!

My hubby and I went to dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6pm and It was about a 1hr wait. We decided to wait in the saloon and have a cocktail. The cadallac margarta and their martinis were spot on! It helped our waiting time. I ordered the Ribeye medium well and my hubby ordered the chicken... We... More

Rustic, Alaska hunting lodge-inspired American restaurant. Untouched by the march of time, its fake snow brilliantly glistening in the bright California sunshine. Delicious food in a woody atmosphere: fresh salads, enormous "lumberjack"-sized steaks and giant baked potatoes. Enormous portions. Reasonable prices. Surprise: Peanuts on the tables and shells tossed upon the floor. The signs at the bar tell you to... More

The best lobster in town. I have only had similar lobster at Puerto Nuevo in Mexico. The salad is to die for. Place is expensive but the portions and service are second to none.

I have been to this place 3 times with friends that wanted to go there. It is always packed with a good crowd, however, it doesn't have the menu I'm looking for. It is expensive.

I have been to Northwoods twice and ordered fried chicken for $22.95. Each time the chicken has arrived, it has been tough. I think they leave it in the fryer too long. The pieces were extremely small and certainly not worth the price I paid. They shouldn't even have chicken on their menu if they don't know how to fix... More
