Went expecting run of the mill sushi given it was lunchtime and at South Coast plaza, but, loved it. Got the older chef, Yoshe, and he was awesome with high grade very creative options. See pictures, but some highlights were Salmon with yuzu, kobe beef with fois gras, great uni etc. Highly recommend Yoshe San !

Funky eclectic vibe and interior, but a good choice. Sushi chefs attentive and skilled. Happy hour sushi offerings are good size portion, everything fresh and true to form. Disregard that the locale is in the mall, this is top notch.

So, the title of my review may confuse some, so before I write this review I will elaborate. This lovely gem of a restaurant is in South Coast Plaza, however for some it may be hard to find as it is neatly tucked away in Section A on Level 3 after crossing the Bridge of Gardens (depending on where you... Being out of state guests of longtime CA friends, we relied on their culinary tastes and experience. We now understand why this dining gem is their favorite. Wonderful decor and ambiance (despite the 2nd floor mall location), but even better menu and service, especially from the owner who personally visits each table. Can't imagine better.

Besides having a nice atmosphere.. For what u pay to have sushi its a little over priced for what you get.

Are here for dinner. Nice modern decor. Difficult to find in such a large mall. Some what of a limited dinner. I loved the ginger salad dressing and spicy tuna rolls. Would have preferred a larger sushi roll selection. I only saw five in the menu. I would eat here again!

They have the BEST sushi and sashimi on planet earth. The service is GREAT and the food is OUTSTANDING and James is the MAN, he is personable and he is the most AMAZING sushi chef period.... The restaurant is beautifully appointed and they are usually busy but James and his staff take care of everyone like a finely tuned orchestra....... More

The calamari was like eating rubber. The sushi was disgusting. The shrimp tempura was not fresh and was mushi. All in all it was a disaster. Avoid at all costs!!

We came here for Father's day dinner, a day before Father's day. It wasn't crowded but we made reservations, got seated right away. My brother and sister in law have been here once before and liked it so we gave it a try. I don't eat seafood, so my choices were limited, however I did get the Nabeyaki Udon which... More

I was traveling on business and joined a friend, who is a bit if a foodie, for dinner. I'm so happy she picked Hamamori. The space had a cool vibe with white furniture. We sat at the sushi bar and let the chef select for us. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. I can't wait to return.
