A DJ spins oldies while 4$ Mimosas are served with good Creole influenced food. We shared the beet and goat cheese salad with popcorn shrimp tacos.

My mom brought my daughter and I to Memphis Cafe for Sunday Brunch. The place is pretty non-descript from the outside and could easily be mistaken for a biker dive bar. They have reasonably priced valet parking which is really convenient. The main room and bar is a bit dark and divey (perfect for night time but not so much... More

I wanted a nice sitdown place for breakfast with my daughter before leaving California and found Memphis Cafe on TripAdvisor. The service was welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious and fairly priced. I enjoyed a shrimp frittata and my daughter had an omelet. It was a quiet morning when we arrived around 9am on a Wednesday. We were... More

We were walking around the The Lab when we stumbled across the Memphis Bar and Cafe. It looks like a total dive so on a whim we decided to see how bad it could be. The dinner menu was posted and as soon as we saw BBQ for $10 this evening we were all in! Their sliced brisket with mashed... More

Went here for brunch with friends today. Great food and menu. Had a really great breakfast burrito with some kick to it. Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable, and had great suggestions.

Thank you for the nice review. I love your description, "Soul Food on the Edge". The breakfast burrito is my favorite item at breakfast. We recently introduced Brunch daily from 8am- 3pm so now you can get that burrito at lunch time. More

Memphis is a local funky joint--you don't go for the atmosphere as it is very tiny. Sit on the back porch, which is covered and more comfortable. The happy hour runs from 3 to 6 and you can get New Orleans favorites at a bargain. Actually, the regular menu is very modestly priced, so you can get a good meal... More

Memphis was an old favorite but hadn't been there in years after retiring. I was delighted to find it was as good as ever. First thing that hits you is this building looks like an old neighborhood biker bar from the outside. Even inside it is dark but inviting. My favorite place to eat is outside on the patio. On... We appreciate the positive feedback from a former regular. We are going to embark on a exterior update on this former dive bar soon (less biker more modern). Thanks for coming back to Memphis Café and your years of patronage. More

I went here for my friend's birthday brunch. The atmosphere was a little dark but the service was very kind and helpful. Food was served in a timely manner. Everyone in my party got breakfast item and was satisfied with our food. The breakfast was good and I would imagine that lunch/dinner would be just as good. I am looking... More

Thanks so much for the nice review. Memphis Café was a former dive bar called the King's Inn. Constructed in 1953, the bar was designed to keep daylight in the interior to a minimum. The we put in few "googie" windows that it does have when we renovated it in 1995. We agree however, we need to get the space... More

I really wanted to like this funky little place, craving southern food we ferreted out this joint. We found the hush puppies to be flavorless and a bit gummy, the cornbread dry, the fried catfish had a good cornmeal crust, but the fish under seasoned, and the clams and mussels in broth to be missing the broth. Overall...disappointing.
