Very Good Food in Nice Atmosphere

I saw this restaurant online, and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. There is an extensive drink and food menu. They have small plates as well as full entrees. I tried three small plate items. I had a cup of seafood gumbo. It was on the tame side in terms of spices, but... read more

it not a place for nonsmokers and the quality of food is bad. Most of the dishes we saw while walking around are greasy. There was a lot of obese customers. The smell of smokers stink the place. We left after 15 minutes and could not handle the smell. The bar is very small and so does the kitchen.

Ask to sit out back - its a cool environment. You can order the bottle of champagne for $12.00 and it comes with a little carafe of orange juice. I ordered their special which was a Moco-Loco (a delicious hamburger on top of a bed of rice with an over easy egg, smothered in gumbo - yum!) This is a... More

They have items like Shrimp Frittata, Etouffee Omelette, pork chop & eggs, Southern Eggs Benedict with pulled pork or corned beef, and MORE. I had the etouffee omelette and it was amazing!! The prices here are unbeatable you definitely are not going to break the bank here. It was quiet and only 4 other people in the restaurant. We received... More

Inside it is a bit of a dive bar. The small outside patio is cool but it is still a bit of a dive patio. But you get unbelievable value for money. Service is awesome. Drinks are very good and not that expensive. Their food is so much better than you would expect in this "setting". It could belong in... More

I can only speak to the cornbread and their famous chicken. I honestly did not know what part of the chicken I was really eating. I did not know if it was an Airline cut of a chicken breast, or a thigh/breast combined together. All I remember was a lot of crust , very little meat, and a small bone!... More

This place is a modern hipster soul food combo. It's always delicious and never disappoints. I love going for the happy hour and splitting the different items with a friend so you can try more! The breakfast is also awesome here :)

Thanks so much for the kind words. We hope to see you back again soon. We will certainly consider kicking up the heat on the Gumbo a notch. More
