Great variety, love the juke box and counter seating plus outdoor seating and booths. Best to go off-hours as there’s always a long line for peak times!

Back again for an ' all American ' dining experience. There's a huge selection of food to choose from including breakfast, sandwiches, sides, cakes, coffees etc... Portions are huge. You definitely won't go hungry.. and prices are reasonable for such a touristy area. Service was...OK, maybe not as hood as the last time I visited but nevertheless I'll definitely be back and would whole heartedly recommend to others. Thank you!More

We've been coming to Coronado for years and progressively have added children to the mix. As a family of 5, Clayton's still offers a great atmosphere! Its a classic diner with really good meals - anything you get. We went all 4 days that we...stayed on the island this trip, we love their walk up window, ate outside one day, and ate inside two days. There are so few "classic diners" in America and its absolutely worth a trip.More

The flood sas really good and fast service. The decoration (styled 60s) is great and took us in the mood. I’d recommend to wait and seat inside for better experience

Went to SEAL training in 1988 in Coronado Ca. I kept wanting to go here, bc I love diners, but never did due to time. 35 years later, I’m back for a biz meeting at hotel del. So, Monday morning (before start of meetings) I...ran here for breakfast. I live in Gettysburg PA, so my clock had me up at 3:00am waiting to go eat. Finally went at 6:00am. Now I’m more pissed about not eating here back in ‘88. 1940’s diner with u shaped bar and a few booths. Equipped with mini jukebox boxes at your seat. My server, Angel, dressed in his 1940’s diner uniform, led me through menu and couldn’t be friendlier. Be sure to talk to him bc he is great. Oh, if you’re in a rush, you can order at the walk up take out window around the side. They also have a bakery (just up the street) that supplies all the baked goods. I was able to get back on Thursday morning before I left Everything is homemade. The only bad thing, I didn’t eat everything in menu yet. I am sure it is all great. Here’s what I had Mon - CHEF LUIS' CHILAQUILES super SPICY salsa roja with tortilla chips, guacamole, sour cream & 2 eggs - i did over easy. Also, get it with the homemade hot salsa. Great heat and flavor. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Also, they have their own shredded corned beef hash. One of my favorite breakfast foods. Thursday - EGGS FLORENTINE BENEDICT 2 poached eggs, spinach, tomato, roasted red peppers & smoked bacon on an english muffin served with breakfast potatoes I also threw on some of the hot salsa on the potatoes. Again, very upset I couldn’t get more. But, as soon as I can drop $20mil on a local house, I’ll be there every day.More

One of the best places we ate at while driving around California. Good prices, good food (good portion sizes for our UK eaters) and good service. Tuna Cheddar Melt with chips and a soda went down extremely well.

It was crazy busy and we never felt rushed. The food stood up to the hype, we will be back! Along with alllllll the others! And our waiter was so nice, which is so hard to come by these days! He never acted annoyed if...we asked for refills or anything even when he had 4 plates in his handsMore

My friend recommended Clayton's and we are so happy she did. We ate breakfast here every day we were in Coronado. Food is delicious, reasonable and service is outstanding. We will definitely return AND recommend Clayton's to our friends and family.

Clayton’s is a Coronado institution but unfortunately the quality of the food and the cleanliness have deteriorated significantly. We have been there for breakfast several times over the years and we’re pleased. On a recent visit we tried them for dinner. The food (fish and...chips, turkey dinner) weren’t just average they were bad. The fish pieces looked large but were almost all breading. The fish that there was had virtually no taste. Two turkey dinners were both described as tasting “off” like the turkey was spoiled and were not finished. Large portions and the “diner vibe”unfortunately do not make up for bad food.More

We popped in for lunch last week. What a fabulous diner with an authentic American vibe. We had veggie sandwiches and fries. The sandwiches were fully loaded with delicious veg fillings and extremely tasty. We were left very satisfied. Service was efficient, prompt and so...very welcoming. Overall the cost was also really reasonable for the US. Would definitely recommend and return. Do not miss this one ! Thank you for a super lunch!More

Not really, no patio. We parked in the shade and left the windows open then took our boys to dog beach after!
