Great happy hour specials and excellent poke wraps and oyster shooters. Historic boathouse with cool nautical theme.

The food at this restaurant is very good and they have a nice selection. The ambiance is nice and dress is nice casual. It's across the street from the del Coronado Hotel.

Don't be confused: this location has reopened as The Boathouse, same great historic location (the Boathouse for the Hotel Del Coronado, you know in case you arrived in your yacht in 1900) check out my review for the Boathouse to hear how much I enjoyed this great place.

This establishment closed recently and had reopened as the Bluewater Boathouse. I don't think much is different. ...perhaps the carpet?

We had a group dinner, so the menu was different. My chicken was so dry and in edible I sent it back. Even the waiter agreed. The replacement was a forgetful dish of fatty Atlantic farm raised salmon. The view is the winner here. Maybe some appetizers and a round of drinks instead of a full meal?

1887 on the Bay was a picturesque way to spend a lovely spring evening at sunset while on a romantic getaway. Service was friendly and warm and the food and drink were pleasant. Yes, price-wise you may not make this place a common stop on your regular outings, but for a quiet, romantic time looking into the eyes of someone... More

I had previously reviewed the Boathouse which steadily lost its customer base as prices climbed and quality suffered. AKA...now it is called 1887 on the Bay...same ownership, mostly the same wait staff, and a new chef. Sadly things have not improved and after spending a good sum on a family dinner, we have given up and will not support this... More
