The food is delicious, the service and staff are excellent. The blue garlic fries could use more blue. The only negative is the tip calculator. For some reason, it includes the tax when suggesting a tip. Patrons tip on food and beverage service, not on..."tax".More

This is a trendy small restaurant/wine bar in Old Town Clovis off of Clovis Avenue . We came for dinner and the menu is very limited. I think maybe if you want a glass of wine and appetizers, this might be more in line with...what you’re looking for. We ordered salads which was fair and pretty good size but not that wow. Someone ordered the duck special dinner which although good, it was small for $22. Someone ordered a sandwich and the meat is sliced sandwich type so she had it replaced with roasted chicken which they were willing to do and side salad. Her sandwich looked like a better meal, And maybe they should offer it on the menu. Another got two appetizers, prosciutto wrapped grilled asparagus and a wedge salad which they make with romaine lying sideways with tomatoes and cheese on top. They were good but not fantastic and about $18. Another ordered the shrimp and it was very small for the $18 or so. Just fair and too small in her opinion. There is about three sandwiches and three dinner choices altogether. I saw a charcuterie board that looked pretty good but it is $25 so that’s what I would do if I ever came back and the menu doesn’t change. Fun, trendy wood crafted furniture, tall bar height farm table-like in the front area and regular height seating in the back. Not extremely comfortable if you’re needing a place to hang out for extended amounts of time. I’d like to see this eatery bar make it, but the food options are probably going to be the deal breaker if it doesn’t add a few more filling choices.More

Wow, what a great place to have a nice lunch. We stopped in here on the recommendation of my daughter, and we're very pleasantly surprised. It looks very nice inside, and is very inviting. From the bar in front to the dining room in back,...it was clean and looked very comforting. It was great to find some local wines and beers on the menu. I had The Only Yankee Here sandwich. It was a nice play on the classic Reuben. The taste was fantastic, however the pastrami was a little thicker than I like it, and was, thus, a little tough. It came with homemade kettle chips that were amazing. They had just the right amount of fresh ground sea salt on them. My friend had the tri-tip sandwich. He said the meat was so tender it could have been cut with a butter knife. And the flavor wad out of this world. He had the tomato bisque, and said that, it too, was awesome. I am looking forward to going back and trying their charcuterie boats with local meats and cheeses. Members can rent lockers there to store their own wine, etc. For when they come back. I would highly recommend The Local for a great lunch and a great time.More

Stopped in because we heard it was new. The menu is a one pager that has a variety that will satisfy a wide selection. We went with the specials on for the Clovis Rodeo. Check out the pics...the sandwiches were amazing. I have never had...a tri tip stacked that high that I could bite through and not pull all the meat out of the sandwich. It was SO tender. The sauce was sweet, but had a hint of heat that sneaks up on you. A tremendous tri tip sandwich. The tomato bisque was a great compliment. It was rich, fresh, and has so much more complex than a soup. Great lunch! Oh, and in-house fresh potato chip...my buddy loved them. He didn't share the pastrami panini with me, so it must have been Good! Local beers on tap from TacOps, Full Circle, and Tioga Sequoia...along with other. Had a great conversation with our server and one of the owners. She is getting this place off the ground and has hired a tremendous chef. Go by, check it out. So worth it!More
