Two of us shared a half order of fried (cooked in duck fat!) and we each had a brat sandwich with grilled peppers and onions. Great choice of beers to go with the sausages and fries!

We've had some memorable times spent here with family and friends around an outside table close to a nice gas heater. The fries are stupendous - flavorful, sliced thin, twice-fried, once in duck fat. I don't like french fries but I'd kill for these . . . . The drinks are expensive but excellent: Lots of variety (beers especially, but... More

Very unpretentious, pricey beers and burgers, but top quality. Much better than Eureka s and quieter too. Great local bar ambience. Go!

This is a very popular place in Claremont. The beer selection is truly amazing. The burgers are tasty and accompanied by a salad instead of the traditional French Fries, which makes me very happy. It has a large outdoor seating area with heat lamps in the winter. The inside is not huge and can be very very noisy when it... More

When I first was introduced to the back abbey it was a wonderful experience. Great beer and food. Still has great beer and food, but my only complaint is that my burger arrives cold to the table. This has been the last 2 visits. Besides that it will be one of the best burgers you will have, the fries are... More

Very good ( and pricey) beers. Food used to be good but recently it all went fine on quality. No longer the same place as it seems to be run- down now. A bit dirty too.

So as always, my pal and I get the veggie burger - me without the bun, my friend with the bun. And a bottle of Twenty Bench. Perfect meal. Best potabello mushroom ever ! Well recommended

A neat little building and the Belgian pub a lived-in look, dark and rustic. You feel at home even though it is the first visit. The food menu is on a chalkboard posted high above the bar. It consists of salads, burgers and bratwursts. It’s upscale bar food. Belgian beer being considered among the best and having it on tap being a... More

Visited on a busy night. Placed our order and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes without being served. We had ordered 1 Medium RARE burger and 1 Medium WELL burger. Unfortunately after our 45 minute wait both burgers arrived medium WELL. We did not send the order back as we were ready to eat and dared not wait for them... More
