More than great food! Unwined Kitchen and Bar locally owned since 2015. We started life with a small menu of wine-friendly foods and have matured into a full restaurant serving California-inspired handcrafted food, drink and specialty entrees. We have demystified the world of wine, beer and craft cocktails; we keep it cool in a fresh, industrial, casually hip environment. Stepping into Unwined Kitchen and Bar is like stepping into “the city", but without the high menu prices. Our on the mark selections of seasonally-inspired ingredients are transformed into tasty New American rustic plates, served by knowledgeable, friendly staffers, in a beautiful atmosphere. Relaxing Atmosphere, friendly staff.

Unwined Kitchen and Bar is a great place to unwind, share a glass of wine with a friend, enjoy one of their delicious appetizers, a salad, or a nice dinner, and not break the bank. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. There's a great bar or tall table seating. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

Solo visit.

I went there only a solo date. (Yay for being single! Not!) I ordered the Bao pulled pork tacos ( had a kick due to the ghost pepper cheese), the Cabernet wine flight, and the elk burger with sweet potato fries. Food was amazing, wine was amazing, service was amazing. The restaurant was stylish and clean. The staff were professional and neat looking. Over all, I loved it. I will be back.

Partially cold food!

I have mixed feelings about this place. The food had a good taste however part of the food came out cold, the meat was hot but the potatoes underneath cold. Had my food not been partially cold I would've have given a much higher rating but receiving cold food in a restaurant is a solid no.

Horrible

Came here 4/9/2022 and had a reservation. We were a large party and we’re seated pretty quickly, the hostess was a complete sweetheart. Three people that were part of our reservation couldn’t make it so you could tell they were frustrated with that. Initially tried to squeeze the rest of us in one table and luckily we didn’t have to do that. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We had three toddlers with us and I needed to step away with one of them and when I came back my food was boxed which was fine. My family was still getting things together so I finished my meal while I was there. After we were done and we’re walking away the manager/owner Melinda came up to my husband, kids and I and said, “we just boxed this up for you guys and somebody’s going to leave it?!” Total attitude and was rude, I explained to her the situation and she proceeded to roll her eyes and walk awake. Stunned the cook that was by the pizza asked if we were ok and we explained what happened and she said she’s so sorry and some people are very inconsiderate. We proceeded to walk away and Melinda followed us and asked gosh what was going on?! Every time I tried to explain to her why we were upset she interrupted and “apologized.” She never took responsibility. Food was decent not great not bad and my family will 100% not be coming back here because of that bad taste left in our mouths. I was shocked to find out that she was an owner and cannot believe that the owner treats there customers with such disrespect and unnecessary attitude.

Great Dinner Spot in Chico

As Chico State alumni, we visit Chico a couple of times per year. Had a fabulous dinner at Unwined. At first glance the restaurant may be overlooked since it is located in a small shopping center, but the ambience and atmosphere are very quiet and relaxing with a contemporary flair. Something for everyone on the extensive menu. Wine list is excellent. Service was great. Love this place.

Wonderful Restaurant

Excellant service by our waiter, David M. He took our order before he took his huge party table order. Food was awesome!! Hubby has the Eggs Benefict. I had the Veggie Scramble!! Both delicious!! I live their black beans as they are very tasty!! Highly recommend this testaurant!!

Great Veggie Egg Benedict and Veggie Scramble!! Highly recommend both dishes!! Delicious!! The side dish of black beans are amazing!! Awesome service by our waiter, Devin L. He was great!! Very attentive and a wonderful server!! Highly recommend Unwined!!

Poor service and poor quality food.

Doughy undercooked pizza, brisket sliders so dry. Service was poor - employees socialize amongst themselves and can't be bothered to follow up with you regarding your meal.

Racist much?

I have held off on writing this review for a long time, but I realize that it is just this kind of silence that perpetuates the behavior my three daughters and I experienced at Unwined. We arrived for what we hoped would be a special dinner out after a Christmas spent recovering from illness. Instead it turned into the worst dining experience of our well-traveled lives. Being a bourbon afficianado, I chose the bourbon flight. It turns out a small brown South Asian woman is not expected to drink bourbon. Apparently, the owner assumed that I must be ordering said bourbon for my "friends." I get brown don't frown, etc. and I know that I am often not assumed to be the mother of my tall, mixed-race, white-passing daughters, but then again, where does that assumption come from? One of my daughters who lives in the UK, took a sniff of one of my drinks. She is of drinking age. A waiter (Server 1014) descended upon us with such swiftness I thought we were under attack. As, indeed, we were. She did not have her ID with her, this being an outing with their mother, only my oldest daughter had her purse since she was the one driving and I had planned to have a drink. Not only did the waiter bellow at us, he said I was not allowed to drink my own whiskey and swept it off the table. I asked to speak to the owner who arrived and proceeded to inform me that he was going to be fined $10,000, lose his license, and serve years in jail for serving alcohol to minors. Never mind that my daughter who took the sip of whiskey was not a minor, I happen to know that the fine is actually $250 and 24-32 hours of community service. College students, he proceeded to lecture me, were always coming to Unwined to score some minor-aged drinking. Really? They drive to a pricey restaurant so they could score a drink?? What planet is this misguided patronizing buffoon from? Futhermore, he informed me that he had asked his wait staff to keep an eye on us the minute we walked in the door, because we were suspicious - I assume, as I asked him, because I was the only person of color in the restaurant. It is not likely that I will ever have reason to be in Chico again, but, people, if *you* happen to be there, I highly recommend you spend your money at Red Tavern, Thai Basil, or Parkside Taphouse and avoid this place. Not only will you be treated better, you'd eat better too.

Excellent Food

Had an awesome server who we did not have to ask for anything.Hubby had the Crab Benedict.I had the Veggie Scramble with black beans!! All were delicious!! Place was crowded,but we waited only 20 minutes for a table!!

Never disappointed!

Not only is it beautiful but the food and service is always top notch. We always feel like we are fine dining but the prices are on point. We love going here for happy hour and bunch on the weekends.

The staff is amazing and they seem like they are very close with no drama. Service is awesome! Breakfast is always delicious! We will absolutely be repeat customers. Their monkey bread is a must try!

My friends and I love Unwined!

Three of my friends and I come here several times a month for happy hour. We have food and wine and always have a great time. The staff is very helpful and friendly, service is great, and the happy hour pizzas are very tasty. The atmosphere is what I would call casual-upscale. We always come here for our get-togethers--never anywhere else.
