Service was great, the decor lovely. Salsa and chips on the table immediately, nice friendly staff. Went in on a weeknight around 4:30 so not very busy. The food is not traditional Mexican cuisine, not to my liking at all. I ordered a beef taco and got a chicken taco, the rice was hard and cold, the retried bean pretty... More

Found this off of Trip Advisor. Right on the corner Cal state chico across the street. Lots of parking. Great selection of beverages. Try the stuffed calamari.

Be sure to go when the college students are not in session. (You will not get seated for a long time if they are) From 4-6 they offer $5 plates of many things. Cocoanut shrimp is my personal favorite. Many offerings from the bar--excellent margaritas, plain, peach and other fruits.

Tres is a popular spot and seems to be busy many nights. However, it's beyond me why this is the case. The food is average and definitely not authentic Mexican cuisine. My son ordered a burrito ($12), which was packed with dried-out rice and had very little meat or flavor. This was the final straw for our family. The cost... More

Students work here. So service is great. Excellent drinks and bar service. Go to place for group gatherings. Timely service. Menus has a good variety. Specials kero it fresh. Love the fish tacos. Love enchiladas. Try the Margheritas.

Tres Hombres is one of the most popular places in town but I have no idea why. Maybe it's the location, but it certainly isn't the food. The food is the least authentic Mexican food I've ever had. It's gringo Mexican. I've tried numerous dishes and they're all the same, decent at their very best. It should convert to a bar... More

It's not very common for me to write a bad review. The service was good. Food was very marginal. The pinto beans were ok. All food lacked salt and flavor. Rice was very tomato paste flavored and bland. Chile Rellano was breaded very strangely. Almost like a chicken tender.....Chips and salsa were good. I had to use the salsa to... More

Tres Hombres in Chico is a very nice place to have a fine Mexican lunch or dinner. It has a full bar, and outside dining is available. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food at a very good price.

The service and the food is typically awesome! But if you want a Margarita, this is where you need to be. Lots of choices, lots of additives & fruit. Good prices, just like we remember from school.

Enjoyed the ambiance more than the food. The food was ok but I am sure there is a lot of room for improvement .
