Basque Norte has been around a long time. Wonderful owners, family style sides, just don't order the halibut. Not good, dry, no flavor, portion size horrible. Plus, it was very expensive! I know, I know, why would you order fish? Heard it was good and husband had steak the night before. Won't be going back for awhile!

I love this place. I can't visit Chico without stopping here for dinner at least once. The food is great! The Tapa Sampler (2 shrimp, 1 beef skewer, 1 porky shank) is delicious. Sangria is the best. The owners are great!

Many moons ago when we lived in Lancaster we would make the trek over the hill through Tehachapi to Bakersfield to the best Basque experience in the area at the Wool Growers. Community dining at its best, good food and always an experience. When we came across Basque Norte on a trip from Portland to NorCal, we wondered how it... More

Basque Norte offers some of the best cuts of meat in Chico and the family style dining will satisfy everyone's tastes. Tapas and the best drinks in town are offered in the bar area! Bring the whole family and enjoy!

Basque Norte has been serving the same great food for many years. The quality is always good and it's always exactly what you expect. The food is served family style in generous amounts. One of my all-time favorite restaurants in Chico.

Tapas are all the rage, lots of small plates and variety. This kind of food is the absolute best. I haven't had Basque food since I was a teenager. When I spotted this place, I knew that was it for me for dinner. As it turned out the rest of the group agreed. We took 16 people to eat here.... More

Exquisit, food prepared with attention to detail, variety in selection of foods to satisfy, colorful and savory tapas. Best cream brûlée ever! Delightful music and bartender was delightful. I have already made plans to return with my friends!

The food is not prepared with attention to detail or with quality in mind. They do give you a lot to eat, but eating a lot of mediocre food is not my idea of why I go out to eat. The atmosphere is OK, the service is OK. I wanted this place to be good. I've been to a number... More

We had a mini family reunion in Chico. There were 6 in our party. The service was excellent. The food was good and the portions were more than ample!! If you want a family style old-school restaurant, enjoy Basque Norte.
