good food with a real effort to please the customer

the best part is that the owner is there at 5 AM getting all the pastries cooking for the day. It is ranch food but there are accommodations easily made for those of us that love vegetables too. The place has a great down-home, sincere feel to it.

All the food here is made from scratch. Real food takes a while to cook. So if you're in a hurry, better just to grab a few of their home made pastries in the case and go. But if you've got just a little time, you'll be happy with the fresh-shredded hashbrowns, and hand-pattied sausage.

Friendly local restaurant with good menu and generous portions. We were there for dinner and returned for breakfast .. seeing many of the same local faces as customers. We enjoyed the warmth of the hearth next to our table.

The sandwiches were just okay, and very average fare. I couldn't eat the potato salad that came with my sandwich. Our waitress was friendly and attentive enough. The owner was a very rude woman who does not know how to treat customers. We will not be back.

Not many restaurant choices in the small town. Large selection for breakfast, good prices, food prep was very slow (@ least 30 minute wait to get our meal after ordering). Food quality was average and service friendly yet limited.

Perfect small town cafe. Always friendly and the food is simple, generous and homemade. Great baked goods in the morning. I eat here several times a year when traveling thru Cedarville and always bring turnovers home.

The proprietor of this restaurant is a baking and doughnut frying virtuoso. If you want a really good piece of pie, freshly made cinnamon roll, or what may possibly be the best glazed doughnut anywhere in the world -I kid you not- then be sure and stop by the Country Hearth. Just like anywhere else in the world, if you... More

I ordered a salad and it was fairly good. The meat and cheese on the top were just taken from a package.

We stopped here, expecting very little, and were pleasantly surprised by a huge, delicious slab of prime rib slathered with au jus and horseradish and accompanied by two generous salads topped with homemade ranch dressing that kinda stopped us in our tracks.
