ate there last month, then again recently...in the garden outdoor area. Tables are porous and don't seem that cleaning them would actually work. watched last time..and this time..kids "cleaning" tables...spray. wipe off with dirty towel..on to the seats..wipe off..on to the next table..same towel. USE...paper towels. throw away after each table! use plastic tablecloths that can be cleaned!! Food is good but in theses times. cleanliness is pretty damn important..and doing it the RIGHT way!!More

It was a solid breakfast. Nothing fancy. Solid. They have done a great job of accommodating multiple parties with outdoor seating.

Found this place to enjoy a breakfast by myself. A beach house with teenagers is a lot! Very good service and good. Cannot recommend enough.

We had dinner here and liked it so much came back for breakfast the next morning. The food was very good, the halibut dinner was very flavorful and our five year old loved the grilled cheese. Breakfast was very good as well. The Cayucos breakfast...was well prepared, but the flavor palate was more sweet than savory. The omelette was cooked to perfection! Overall we would return the next time we are in town.More

While traveling South my wife and I stopped for breakfast. We were surprised how fantastic the food and service was. The atmosphere was very pleasing. While talking with other dinners we all agreed this was one of the greatest little places.

Please follow and reinforce proper COVID-19 protocol. While waiting to get a take out order, few people outside and inside were social distancing or wearing masks. Truly disappointed in how this is being managed at the Sea Shanty.

Open 7 days a week since 1983. We felt as if we were stepping back in time and that is a very good feeling! Their extensive menu has something for everyone. I can’t help wondering how many hats on the ceiling they started with in...1983. Our party of 4 ordered the excellently cooked Billy burger, a Chili size open faced hamburger with fries, Salmon tacos and a pastrami sandwich for dinner. Great job Bill and Carol!More

Neat old school breakfast place on the coast. Busy place but in overcast day we ended up only waiting about 10 mins for a table. Good food and service.

Although my wife and I have lived in the area for over 25 years, we had never dined at the Sea Shanty until last night. Boy have we been missing out! We each had a beer (she Stella Artois on tap; me a Sierra Nevada...Pale Ale) as we reviewed the extensive menu. We finally decided to share a grilled cheese sandwich with ortega chili and onion rings, and a small order of fish and chips. Both served quickly despite the now-filled restaurant and both exceeding expectations! We chose the rather light dinner to save room for dessert. We finally settled on the Banana Bama, banana nut ice-cream with a nilla wafer crust. Delicious! Out the door with tax and tip for ~$50; great value! We'll be back for sure!More

They have fish, various meats (without the bun of course), fruit, vegetables. Their fried aren't that good anyway so you won't miss much.
