It probably won't kill you but if you have choice I'd take it. Really disappointing. Food poorly made and only fit for a jail. The wait staff were very friendly and kind so they get a 5.

This is our old favorite stop for comfort food ( anyone born/raised in Cali = Mexican food is comfort food). But, I found a new favorite dish on the menu that I had missed. My new favorite dish: Super Veggie Burrito!... with salsa verde. Black beans and rice mixed with sautéed veggies... zucchini, corn, etc. Fresh & Flavor-Full!

My wife and I were staying at the Best Western down the street and I asked the girl at the front desk to recommend a Mexican restaurant in town, and she recommended Delgado's. We arrived on a Sunday night around 6 pm and the restaurant was about 80% full, mostly couples and families. We both ordered combination plates with a... More

We stopped here for dinner with the kiddos after an afternoon of playing on the beach. Friendly staff and comfortable booths. The food was good, served quickly and hot. There is inside and outside patio dining. Good margarita too. We will definitely eat here again.

We arrived without reservations on a Friday night... the place was packed -- a good sign. We were seated within 10 minutes. Chips and salsa flowed continously. The salsa was very good and fresh tasting, not too spicy. Family friendly.

We visit Carpinteria every year for three weeks. Our tradition includes first night dinner at Delgados. Their food is very traditional California Mexican with wonderful enchiladas tacos and chili rellenos. No nouveau fresh mex just plain delicious beef (ground or shredded) chicken or cheese enchiladas gooey rellenos and old fashioned crispy tacos. I think there may be a second visit.... More

Excellent find when we were looking for Mexican breakfast...discovered the lunch special menu. Sat outside with a mountain view with my 3 dogs.. Reprosado Margarita was the bomb. Spent the rest of the day on the beach.

We went here on the recommendation of our hotel and were disappointed with the exception of the margarita, which gave me quite a good buzz! The salsa was runny and didn't have much flavor. I got a combination plate and was really excited for the tamale, but was disappointed when it was smothered in a chile verde sauce that was... More

Cute place with an interesting history. Reasonably priced food and the margaritas were pretty good. The cheese enchiladas, black beans, and rice were just average for me. There wasn't any real flavor to the enchilada sauce so I was left a bit underwhelmed. Service was ok but it took forever to order drinks and then another forever to order food.... More

I go here a few times a year when I'm in town because my in-laws like it. I'm from bakersfield, so I'm spoiled by good Mexican food and I'm also familiar with all the different regional variations (the major ones, ok). I think their food is average or just below average for California Mexican restaurants. This isn't an insult, we... More
