We visited Sly's three or so years ago and it was just coming into it's own...but let me tell you it's THERE now. We dine at fine restaurants over a good part of the civilized world and the gruyere souffle i had as a starter was WORLD CLASS, and the duck as a main course was as good as I've... More

We went here for brunch on a Saturday (they are only open for brunch on the weekends). The food was very good quality and we all enjoyed our entrees. Two had the abalone benedict which was good but very expensive for the amount of abalone they received. The seafood omelette was a big hit with two in our party. We... More

Carpinteria is about a 20 minute ride over the 101 from Santa Barbara and worth every mile of the drive. The chef has been around for a long time and the place is well known by the locals. We had prime rib, sea bass and class wines. Old school charm and top service.

This always-crowded steakhouse serves the best food in the area. Steakhouse menu with some Italian dishes and also seafood. The oysters-on-the-half shell were the best we've ever had. We shared a large, perfectly cooked New York, and tried several fun side dishes like curry roasted cauliflower and braised fennel. The mini-onion rings were the bomb!! The crowd is very well-dressed... More

My mom treated to me for dinner here after her neighbors raved about their food. They have two different dinning areas, the front is California casual and the back is tablecloth subdued. Everything seemed quite pricey but was as delicious at it sounded. The service was as good as it gets. We ordered their three course $35 meals; I had... More

The restaurant has a frenetic feel in the front-bar area. The back dining room is calmer, I understand. Sly's is a popular place - with a waiting list while most other restaurants on the main street had few patrons.

I can't help it I love hamburgers, even at $16. Order what you want to eat period. Wifey loved her clam linguine. Valet parking but there is street parking all around...it is Carpinteria after all.

Sly's is a white-tablecloth restaurant in a relaxed beach town. Expensive but nowhere near stuffy, the food is fresh, delicious and carefully prepared. Most of the patrons seem to be regulars, which is a good sign. They know what they're doing. If you're not from this region, try the sand dabs, a local white fish, filleted and very lightly breaded,... More

Sly's is upscale, but they welcomed us from camping. The ambience is nice and the service was excellent (Jennifer was our server). The bread is pretty fantastic. The have a decent, well priced children's menu, but I think the real menu and the drink menu are way overpriced. Portions are small and food was just okay. Not bad, just not... More

We have friends who totally love this dining establishment, but I need to say we have given it five tries ... and it has just not been our lucky dining experience. The servers and staff are great, but our meals have been less than desirable. The front seating area and bar are fun and lively, but . . .
