This isn't your typical bar, or restaurant. The bartenders love what they're doing and make drinks dating back to the 1800's! The Corpse Reviver and The Dark n' Stormy will do the trick, but then you look at the menu and stop in your tracks. The highest quality seafood and steaks combined with the imagination and talent of Chef James... More

Everything is perfect at Sly's from the large classic drink menu to the oysters, entrees, and dessert. The service is always excellent. Try going in the early afternoon for a leisurely lunch of mussels and fries, a grilled artichoke, and any one of their fresh salads. The steak on arugula is excellent. Even the bread basket is perfection. It's all... More

My best friend and I come here whenever she is in town from Santa Monica. We love the old fashioned drink menu. The appetizers are great too. We usually get the oysters, potato skins and onion rings. The potato skins are really the shaved skins from the papa and fried nice n crispy. Staff is friendly and prompt.

at our wine tasting earlier in the day, the sommelier recommended Sly's for our dinner. We decided to go based on viewing the menu on line, but the best part of this evening was the service and the setting. We sat at a perfect round table and our server was entertaining and attentive. All meals were delicious.

We visited Sly's three or so years ago and it was just coming into it's own...but let me tell you it's THERE now. We dine at fine restaurants over a good part of the civilized world and the gruyere souffle i had as a starter was WORLD CLASS, and the duck as a main course was as good as I've... More

We went here for brunch on a Saturday (they are only open for brunch on the weekends). The food was very good quality and we all enjoyed our entrees. Two had the abalone benedict which was good but very expensive for the amount of abalone they received. The seafood omelette was a big hit with two in our party. We... More

Carpinteria is about a 20 minute ride over the 101 from Santa Barbara and worth every mile of the drive. The chef has been around for a long time and the place is well known by the locals. We had prime rib, sea bass and class wines. Old school charm and top service.

This always-crowded steakhouse serves the best food in the area. Steakhouse menu with some Italian dishes and also seafood. The oysters-on-the-half shell were the best we've ever had. We shared a large, perfectly cooked New York, and tried several fun side dishes like curry roasted cauliflower and braised fennel. The mini-onion rings were the bomb!! The crowd is very well-dressed... More

My mom treated to me for dinner here after her neighbors raved about their food. They have two different dinning areas, the front is California casual and the back is tablecloth subdued. Everything seemed quite pricey but was as delicious at it sounded. The service was as good as it gets. We ordered their three course $35 meals; I had... More

The restaurant has a frenetic feel in the front-bar area. The back dining room is calmer, I understand. Sly's is a popular place - with a waiting list while most other restaurants on the main street had few patrons.
