We love this place & have been coming here for decades! A gem of a place. It’s been around for years, but continually evolving. We’ve been eating at TOPO for nearly 40 years. What was once a secret has now been flooded by tourist and...skiers! We all know that businesses need tourists and skiers, et al, but today was wild. A heavy rain failing apparently drove all of them indoors! The staff was hustling as they always do, but the dining clientele were a bit rude and cold-hearted. Kids running around after they were done eating, parents with their eyes glued to a ski show on the TV. There were a ton of people on the wait list. Many of them were rude to the staff, but the staff smiled and continued to be amazing… We were seated after about 20 minutes, served water and drinks quickly. Orders were taken and brought out quickly. I’m amazed as everything was done properly and fast - our food was hot, fresh and full of flavor - try the Hangover Helper and the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs - the steak was so tender… Kudos to the staff for another excellent meal! This is a Tahoe jewel. Don’t miss it.More

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting the area. Nice place with good customer service. The food was good and came out in what seemed like a fast time. There is table seating and bar seating. The cafe was not very busy when I stopped in,...but when leaving, it was picking up business, which is always a good sign. Stop in....see for yourself. Enjoy!More

On the lake, other than South Lake Tahoe, we couldn't find many breakfast options other than donuts. We were driving by this place, saw the large crowd and decided to try it. ...it was ok. Slow service but with staff shortage that can be overlooked....Got the eggs bene with a lemon hollandaise and it was really bland. Potatoes were greasy and not thoroughly fried. People were gobbling it up so maybe I ordered the wrong dish but as I said, it was just ok. It was expensive for what I got but everything in the area is.More

The restaurant was busy when we arrived so we sat at the bar. We gave our order and then 30 minutes went by and we noticed others who had been seated after us were already eating. When we asked about our food the waitress made...up excuses and it was obvious she either forgot or on purpose had not put our order in as we were sitting at the bar and could see our order slip on the screen, which had not been moved into the queue. The waitress continued to be rude afterward; however, she had no reason to behave this way, I guess she was having a bad day but the owner should know the long-eyelashed, immature waitress should have better customer service skills by being honest and decent to those bringing money into her community. We come to Tahoe every year bringing others with us so this bad review over time will, unfortunately, affect the restaurant owner.More

I’ve been coming here since 1961. The food was good, but the owner was very rude and in more resent times would ask you to leave if he saw you using a cell phone! Now to current time: went for breakfast (for old times sake)...on Friday morning the 10th of June. Walked in and the apparat new owner told us to wait. Stood there waiting for a good 10 minutes while she seated new arrivals at the counter, serving them water and providing a menu. (Still waiting). I am a disabled Veteran and can’t stand for more than maybe 5 minutes. I looked at her and said that I was going to sit at one of the 6 empty tables. My wife remained standing! Another 10-15 minutes passed and finally she came over, had me get up and moved me to another empty table that was further away. We sat there for another 15 minutes until a waitress came to our table. The food was now just average. I’ll cling to my memories of days gone by and Never Return!More

This was a gem of a find. We went on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. We didn’t have any wait to be seated. Service was excellent. The food was super yummy and a TON of it. The French Toast was some of the best...I have ever eaten. So glad we found this place. After we had eaten here several times during our stay it was recommended to us by other people.More

We were recommended this restaurant by one of our friends. She is the neighbor of the owner -Jeff . The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food came out fresh and quick . We had the Crab cake eggs Benedict, Monte Cristo with blackberries sauce,...grilled veggie sandwich with side salad. The food was tasty. The place was hopping for a Saturday morning. We will be back . They have outside patio with music on occasion.More

No complaints about this place. This was recommended by the folks at BaseCamp in Tahoe City. We were there on a Monday at noon, so not so busy. My wife had the half portion of French toast with strawberries and blueberries. She really enjoyed it....I had the monte cristo. It was fresh, with a healthy portion of meat and cheese. Really great. And the fries were excellent too. I was not blown away by the coffee, but that’s okay. Everything else was fantastic.More

Such a cute little cafe, we love a good breakfast place while we travel, and post office didn't disappoint. The food was amazing and just what we needed to fuel up for a busy day of exploring!

Four of us stopped by for lunch, we had BLTs and burgers. All were tasty and nicely prepared. We liked sitting the benches behind the restaurant, the tables are far apart from each other and it's nice location.

We ordered the waffle and an omlet and both were very good. The restaurant is quite popular with a line outside for ordering/pick up. There were outside tables on the side, well spaced apart.

Great custom service, friendly and the quality of the food was excellent. Had the Crab Egg's Benedict and it was wonderful. Everyone in the family was happy with their breakfast choices. Great outdoor dining area with fast service.
