We ended up coming here twice in our week at Tahoe. Found it to be less-crowded than the more popular Log Cabin Cafe down the road. They were able to get us in quickly both times during prime breakfast time. Pancakes were great. But their potato dishes were the highlights for us. I recommend getting one of those. Service was... Fun casual atmosphere with classic Tahoe character. Family of 6 enjoyed our meal so much we returned two days later. Highlights, Denver omelet, french toast, custom scramble and potatoes.

We have stopped at the Old Post Office for breakfast/brunch every time we have been in Lake Tahoe for many years. This morning was our last visit. There were 8 of us -- 4 adults and 4 children, ages 7,5,3 and 7 months (who slept in her car carrier the entire meal). My daughter and her husband (both bariatric patients... More

Looked forward to breakfast there, had been a couple of years. Arrived around 8AM not busy so we got good service..a little rushed but not rude. Ordered Breakfast Burrito after third "Are you ready" within 5 minutes. Waitress brought out several table orders at once. Husbands sausage patty was almost burnt, eggs OK. My Burrito, way overcooked, was topped with... More

We ate here again, forgetting that the pancakes are made with "cake" dough (sweet), and that the potatoes were unseasoned. Staying in the North Tahoe area for a week made us want to go out for breakfast ONCE, and this place was the closest. Well, nothing new here. Decent service, good eggs and biscuits, but the same sweet pancakes and... More

This quaint place serves breakfast and lunch and closes at 2:00 p.m.. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. My husband and I had lunch. I had the roast beef dip and my husband had grilled turkey and cheese. Service was great. Planning on visiting them again for breakfast during out trip.

Excellent breakfast fare - lots of gluten-free options plus great classics (my son loves the French Toast.) In the summer, they have patio seating. Not much of a view, but our favorite morning place none-the-less...

This is a hidden jewel of Lake Tahoe. The staff is friendly, the establishment is very kid friendly, and the food is stellar. It's mostly a "locals" place but you won't find a better breakfast in town.

My family and I tried the Old Post Office Coffee Shop for breakfast on our vacation. We loved our breakfasts, and the staff were very friendly. The pancakes were definitely worth the wait!
