Espinaca Con Queso - I would never order this again. It seemed watery to me. I thought maybe I just wasn't good at judging Mexican food so I asked my friend, who has family in Mexico, and he didn't care for it either. Spinach Enchiladas...- It was ok, I would never order it again. Breading was too thick. Didn't care for the flavor. Chile Rellenos - I would rate as one of the worse I've ever had. Chips - Not fresh homemade. Wait staff - No well versed on the food and ingredients and not as welcoming as they could have been. Would I return - NO. My friend says the same but he left his own review.More

Well despite how cute it is, nice staff and reasonable prices they happen to have a pet problem of the roach kind. Sitting there for lunch there was a highway of roaches scurrying along the tile borders on the wall and around the pictures. We...didnt notice it until after we placed our food and we were snacking on chips and salsa. Its like they knew food was at our table and showed up. We couldnt stay to enjoy our meal and were itching all over. We did share this with the management and hope they address it/More

We five friends took a friend to dinner who had moved back to Illoinoise and was here for a short visit. I hadn't been to Garcias for years after a visit where I thought the fool was not that great. This visit the food was...good, my margarita was tall tasty and the service was efficient and friendly. I guess I will not wait for years to return.More

We first tried this place when we first moved to the area about 15 years ago we were hoping for a favorite new place nearby, unfortunately the food lacked enough authentic flavors & seemed a bit pricey. By now we’ve grown a little tired of...our “regular” favorite places nearby & after reading some new reviews we thought we’d give it another chance. Unfortunately Garcia’s still lacks some of the authentic flavors we look for in a good & favorite Mexican restaurant. The staff seemed kind but quiet & a bit scarce at times. They got my order wrong but once I found our waitress they were prompt to correct it. I didn’t ask & they didn’t offer any kind of discount for the error. The chili Colorado was just kinda tasty as was my shredded beef taco with a homemade shell, but unfortunately the rice, beans & both kinds of salsa were very bland. I also tried the special ice cream dish with cinnamon & Carmel drizzle (sounded delicious) but again tasted like stale cereal flakes & freezer burned ice cream. I’m sorry I hate to & very rarely give less then amazing reviews but I’m also always honest in my reviews. Still not a terrible place to eat & in a pinch we might give it another chance & try something else next time. On the plus side, the servings were a good size as were the clean dining areas & they have a nice lil seating area outside in the patio plus a full bar area(we didn’t try the drinks on this visit).More

My husband and I went because I was craving tortilla soup and street tacos. I was majorly disappointed with both. My soup was cold and the street tacos would not have filled my 4 yr old grandson. The chips were stale and the girl taking...our order was not all together right. Used to be one of my favs not anymore.More

We were looking for a quick place. This fit the bill. I had the chicken avocado salad and friend had the taco tortilla soup. Both were fine. Sever was pleasant , salad was $13.50, maybe a little expensive.

I hadn't been here in years and the only reason I went was for a birthday party. The Good: Clean, nice atmosphere, good waiter. The Skinny Margarita was yummy. The Tamala was very good. The Bad: I ordered a meal from the Lite section of...the menu. A Chicken Spinach Quesadilla. It was gross! Creme cheese is not a Lo Cal food and it tastes terrible combined with Spinach and Chicken on a Flour Tortilla. I did not eat it. Hubby gave me half his Tamale( see the Good) and the remainder of his Taco which he didn't like because the shell crumbled when he'd bite into it. He also said that the Cheese Enchilada was bland.More

My friend and I went to Garcia’s today. I read on a Facebook Vegan group page that there was a vegan menu there and I was eager to try it. I ordered the veggie burrito “flour tortilla filled with your choice of beans, lettuce, grilled...veggies and tomato. Baked and topped with red or green sauce. Served with your choice of beans. $11.49.” My friend ordered a chicken burrito. Both burritos came with the same brown-ish sauce on top. I asked the waitress about the red sauce that the menu had promised and she said it had meat in it so she gave me this (unidentified) sauce instead. I was surprised but moved on as I was very hungry. I didn’t get to choose the beans, she didn’t ask when I ordered and I forgot to make a point of it so it turned out that the (very few) beans inside were refried. Hopefully a vegan version of refried. The sauce on top and inside was gelatinous in texture and tasteless. There were (NOT grilled as the menu stated) steamed broccoli bits, cauliflower bits, onion and carrot inside. There was no tomato. It was all mushy and flavorless. There was only lettuce on the side. When she brought my dish, the waitress commented about the rice having chicken stock in it so she said that’s why there was no rice on the side… but rice wasn’t supposed to come with it anyway! I was promised beans per the menu but none were there. Service was very slow. I had to flag down the hostess to tell her no one had come to take our order after 10 minutes. The food took about 25 minutes to arrive. We had to ask three times for more salsa. I gave the waitress a 50% off coupon when I ordered. At the end of the meal when she brought the check, she said I used a 5 dollar off coupon instead of yours because that’s a better bargain. I didn’t think it through then, but with one dish being $12.75 and the other being $11.49 (Both, by the way, way overpriced-especially the vegan one!), 50% off the second dish as the coupon stated would have given us $5.75. So, she actually dinged us a little. (It’s the principle!!!) Despite them having a vegan menu (which didn’t match the food I was given), I would not go back nor recommend this place to anyone.More
