This restaurant in Carmel Valley Ranch is terrific. Great food, good portions and very efficient and friendly wait staff. Welcoming for families with small children as well.

We had New Years Eve dinner here and it was fantastic! While the food is fantastic, we found the ambiance to be a bit stark and more casual relative to the prices. Fantastic eclectic and dynamic options!

Had a beautiful view form our table. The ceviche and tuna poke were very mediocre. The whole Gilroy roasted garlic was quite good and the Castorville baby artichoke was satisfactory. The chef's special casual open face steak sandwich with blue cheese was not to my liking. We ate there upon our arrival at the resort and did return. Since the... More

My husband and I went here on Friday night March 31, 2017 to kick-start our 1st wedding anniversary weekend. The decor and ambiance were nice, looked newly renovated. We had a cheese plate to start which was quite large and good. Then I had the artichoke, quinoa salad, the steamed veggie side and a lavender vodka cocktail. These are the... More

We met friends for brunch- they were staying at the Carmel Valley Ranch and we in Pacific Grove. Our drive to meet them was pretty and especially once we entered the Ranch area. This restaurant is set high on the hill, has a warm inviting interior, and overlooks the pool as well as a wooded hillside. Two of us ordered... More

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Friday March 17th, at the Valley Kitchen. The view is fantastic, we sat in the newer section back by the pool. Beautiful, the whole place is a bit louder than you want for an intimate dinner, but still nice. I love a good Cesar salad. Good does not mean complicated. this was simple... More

After living in the area for 20 years I was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem! The ambience is comfortable and clean. Everyone is very welcoming from the minute you walk into the building. Not to mention the incredible views from just about any table in the place!! Chef Tim Wood and Gus are extremely talented chefs and very... More

We celebrated New Year's Eve at this wonderful new restaurant...lead by Monterey County's favorite and number one rated chef for the past two years by the Weekly readers. They have their own garden so this takes field to fork to the next level. Every dish we had was fantastic, with the freshest ingredients and a unique flare to everything we... More

We visited on Valentine's Day which is probably not the best test for a restaurant. They were almost totally full, even though this is a large space with many separate rooms. The one they seated us in was quiet enough but the lighting was harsh and they could not dim it. We requested a different table and they were able... More

I feel incredibly lucky to have this restaurant practically in my back yard. Valley Kitchen earns its great reputation because of their great Chef...Tim Wood who has won Chef of the Year in Monterey County multiple times. Valley Kitchen is great for casual dining at the bar with a varied and reasonable bar menu or if you are interested in... More
