This restaurant is a hidden treasure. It is unfortunate they will be forced to relocate. The landlord is being unreasonable with a rent increase. But the two times I dined here with a friend, we both were extremely surprised and satisfied with the quality of the food & service. The last time there we both ordered the same thing -... More

The impending closure of Bistro 211 (September) induced us to go back with a friend. The good news is that the Steak Frites was excellent. The bad that bouillaisse was so-so (lacking in broth) and the Lamb Shank barely warm and not flavorful. Given that there were only four other tables, the service let something to be desired. All-in-all, a... More

Very good burgers, a nicely decorated place with good atmosphere, relaxed music and good service. Worth stopping on the way between L.A. and S.F.

Decided to have lunch on our way to Big Sur. Looked at the menu and specials board first. The specials board was confusing as it looked like the 3 items listed were one special but it was not. Taco chicken salad, BLT, and Patty melt were good. Too bad the sandwiches don't come with a side included. Side salad that... More

We have walked by this adorable little French Restaurant so many times saying we should come back and eat here…..and finally we did. Nestled in the back of a courtyard in the Crossroads Shopping Center on Highway 1 and Rio Road in Carmel, the chalkboard menu and welcoming read door draw you right inside. This place has been here forever... More

The food here is always good to very good. They have a daily special which allows for soup or salad,, main course and usually makes for an interesting choice. For a while, it was open for breakfast but, alas, that is no longer the case.

We found this little restaurant while waiting for seating at another one in the Crossroads Center. Great find. Very good food although a little pricey. Very quiet. Exceptional service with great attention to detail. One of the best dining experiences we have had in long time. Will definitely return on our next visit.

Pleasantly surprised, This intimate and cozy place is staffed by attentive personnel who are good at what they do. Your glass will never be empty and best thing your food is delicious and delivered quickly and just as you ordered. The bigger surprise is the outdoor seating and that they cater to the 4 legged guests both in their outdoor... More

We went to the cafe as it was 2pm and we were hungry. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and provided with drinks. Menu choices were fresh and well made! Nice atmosphere with outside dining available. Would definitely go back and recommend for choice, cost and service!

My husband and I go to Carmel every December. This is the second time we have had brunch at Bistro 211. Very good and very different brunch items.
