Cozy and unpretentious, good food. Great place to relax and enjoy a good meal, or coffee and dessert. Has been there for years and is a local favorite.

There are many restaurants that serve great food and differentiating them on a 5 point scale is difficult. This restaurant serves really good food, but what makes it special is the ambiance. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. The main room has about 12 tables, most are round wood tables seating four with dining chairs - some upholstered,... More

I'm no connoisseur of all things French (hell, I still can't pronounce the name of this place) but what I can tell you is that this was the best pastry I've ever eaten. This is the kind makes you think things like: "I didn't know coconut cream pie could taste this good, what else have I been missing"? and, "What... More

Had lunch here last weekend and was very pleased. I had the roast beef sandwich with salad. The salad wasn't anything special. In hindsight I would've gone for the soup. The sandwich however was very good. European size portions so not too much food. My friend had the Brie, Pate, and Fresh Fruit. She said the pate was excellent as... More

It was during our annual weekend visit to Carmel when we came across this place. A quaint little place that was informal yet romantic at the same time. Service couldn't have been better. Our waiter was extremely attentive. The food is some of the best we have had in a long time. From the appetizer to wine to dinner, it... More

Pros: warm European atmosphere, staff friendly & helpful. The salad was very good as were their homemade dressings. The dessert was excellent. Cons: The chicken pot pie was boring and flavorless. There was 1 small piece of carrot, 1 pearl onion & about 4 peas. The rest was cubes of chicken, some of which seemed to be the cartilage and... More

It's a combination of a pastry shop and restaurant. The pastry is definitely superior to the restaurant itself. It might be because it was very crowded but I found the service very rushed. We waited a long time to be served but once the food came felt as if they just wanted us to eat and go as quickly as... More

Their marinated artichoke is to die for--i'd come back just for this. Had a simple but delicious pasta dish (penne with perfect tomato sauce, wilted fresh spinach leaves and parmesan); husband was pleased with his rich creamy seafood+polenta. wished we'd had room for the yummy-looking desserts. friendly, attentive service and good food all around.

I stopped here for lunch after hiking at Point Lobos. I was given a table next to some open windows..the fresh air was wonderful. I ordered the artichoke vinaigrette and French onion soup. Both were excellent-the artichoke fresh with a nice basil mayonnaise on the side. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. Would come here again.

nice restaurant and great service but the prices that they put here on their site are higher on menu in restaurant by about $4 or $5 dollars a dish. Wish they would change the price on internet so as to no mislead customers. Order Duck in advance. Price for that is $26 and comes with soup or salad...Onion soup which... More

Description
A relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail, and pastries baked daily on premises. Dining room is available for private dinner parties.
