We visited Cantinetta Luca on a busy Friday night during Monterey Auto Week. We showed up at our reserved time and were seated promptly by the hostess, who had to fight her way through the crowd at the door. If you do not have a reservation on a weekend night, be prepared to wait. A while. When you go to... More

Our favorite little restaurant in Carmel. Been here many times. Love the breadsticks, the bread, the service, the wine list, and the food of course. Sat at the little bar by the pizza oven the last couple times and watched the preparation. The steaks are out of this world. Cut and finished in the wood burning oven. Melts in your... More

Service was slow and indifferent. After service of the appetizer (white bean soup), there was no follow up by the waitress. The soup beans were undercooked and the soup lacked flavor. Salt and pepper had to be requested to make it edible. When I informed the waitress that the beans were undercooked and the kitchen should be told, there was... More

We went here for an early dinner with our toddler. The staff were amazing, friendly and accommodating. The menu was excellent, but the food itself a little disappointing. Many of the dishes were lukewarm, pretty sure they were just heated up in a microwave given how quickly they arrived. A shame, as the venue itself is lovely.

I get that the waitstaff in places like Carmel must tire of tourists, but I wish they wouldn't be so obvious about at it as our waiter at Cantinetta Luca was the evening we were there. It is really sad to see really wonderful food and what could have been a highlight of our visit upended by a waiter who... More

Good service. Food is exactly as it says, not over represented. Burrata with Crustini is a wonderful dish to share with others. The bread is fresh and tasty. The red wine waiter recommended was so yummy. The hostess was pleasant and atmosphere is not stuffy. I have been here 5 times, each time good service, good food & prices reasonable.... More

Visited here after a local conference on the recommendation of a friend who said this was their favorite place in Carmel. Did not disappoint! Excellent food, beverage, and service. Small but comfortable and you will know what your "neighbors" are having and discussing. But it was a pleasure to engage total strangers about their food and we had some great... More

We had dinner here with our family on a busy Friday evening. Service was friendly and prompt and everything we ordered was very good. They timed the meal nicely for adults and kids orders. Great location right downtown.
