All the staff is very friendly and we felt comfortable from the very first moment we got there. The food was perfect. I had a wonderful and fresh green salad with ricota and balsamic vinaigrette. My husband had a juicy and tender filetto that came exactly the way he ordered. We had a delightful moment there and surely recommend it.

We had another very good experience at Luca, enjoying the fresh ingredients and wide selection of appetizers and pastas. The short rib was a bit on the dry side but the bolognese and halibut special were exceptional for sure. The wine list is adequate but not much more than that. Our waiter was very professional and attentive; thank you Jose... More

First time to Carmel, first restaurant we tried. Good, attentive and helpful service. Husband had the beef filet, I had the salmon. . . both delicious. Wine by the glass - very good - pricey. Dinner came in around $125. Would recommend. PS Made a reservation and was offered late or very early otherwise they were booked. We got there... More

Although Cantinetta is not one of the cheapest options, you do get what you pay for: good Italian food, great flavours, fresh ingredients and friendly service. We had a delicious cocktail, a fresh antipasto and a great main dish. Would definitely recommend it!

Actually ate here twice in three days during Monterey car week. Both times I had the tagliatelle alla Bolognese. It is the best pasta I have had outside of Italy. Well worth the visit.

This place is very lively and welcoming. Sat at the bar and got into three different conversations with the patrons there with me. The bartender was a delight, the food was well prepared and presented and it was simply a delightful evening.

We visited Cantinetta Luca on a busy Friday night during Monterey Auto Week. We showed up at our reserved time and were seated promptly by the hostess, who had to fight her way through the crowd at the door. If you do not have a reservation on a weekend night, be prepared to wait. A while. When you go to... More

Our favorite little restaurant in Carmel. Been here many times. Love the breadsticks, the bread, the service, the wine list, and the food of course. Sat at the little bar by the pizza oven the last couple times and watched the preparation. The steaks are out of this world. Cut and finished in the wood burning oven. Melts in your... More

Service was slow and indifferent. After service of the appetizer (white bean soup), there was no follow up by the waitress. The soup beans were undercooked and the soup lacked flavor. Salt and pepper had to be requested to make it edible. When I informed the waitress that the beans were undercooked and the kitchen should be told, there was... More

Cantinetta Luca is our go to place for home made pasta; and, house cured meats. The rustic interior provides fairly tight seating. All of the entrees are quite good. It can get noisy later in the evening. Eat early for a more quiet, relaxed environment. The service has slipped somewhat. Our server brought the wrong order and then argued that... More
