About
We know good seafood, we know how to buy it and we know how to prepare it. Unlike most restaurants (even the best of them) where fish is often a secondary item on the menu… at Flaherty's it's all about seafood.

I had ordered the crab tacos which there were 2 tacos in a plate. First of all the crab meat they have used is like came out from canned and so with the tomatoes that was mixed was also frozen. They have mushed corn (...masa) they have mixed it with condensed milk. On the side is also a canned black beans. My hubby had fish and chips, looking pretty greasy We ordered the best drink - water and they gave us ice waterMore

Fabulous the best restaurant we hit on our 3 day weekend in Carmel. Ken the owner was like a friend and treated us like regulars, the food sooo exceptional and a menu tremendous with something for everyone. We hit this place on our first night,...and were greeted by Stoyan, the host and very personable, kind and a social butterfly. Our server had our water and drink orders filled the whole time we were there, we ordered a lot of great dishes, I had the best crab meat quesadilla I ever tasted with corn mesa, my friends had the seared ahi, crab cakes, claim chowder, we were blown away, and feared we'd never top this place. Ken the owner also owns the Village Corner directly across the street at the corner, which we already decided we would try for breakfast the next morning. The desserts were another story! The bread pudding was yummy but so was the elderberry pie, which is hard to come by and a special berry and I had the key lime pie and would order it again. Highly recommend this restaurant, it's not to be missed while visiting Carmel!!!More

While in Carmel we decided to have lunch. We came across Flaherty's. We had the best seats in the house.....Found out the Fish and Chips were cod but you could pay a few dollars more and get halibut.....Our fish and chips were delicious and fresh...halibut. Carolina was our waitress and was great.More

We've been to Flaherty's on numerous trips to Carmel over the years and I always look forward to the Sand Dabs. We were back recently for the first time since COVID and of course, I ordered the Sand Dabs. I don't know if it was...and off night or if the food has gone downhill, but they were mealy and lacked flavor. Such a disappointment. They weren't bad enough to send back, but would no longer recommend. The rice that came with them was good and the vegetables were ok. My husband's dish was fine, but not outstanding. The service was good, the wine was tasty and it's a great location.More

We had a very nice meal here. We came on the latish side, but we were seated quickly. The food was delish and we were not rushed despite being past closing time. Very accommodating.

My wife and I since 2009 have dined here. We took a two year break due to Covid shutdowns and mask regulations. We just returned and the menu and food isn't anywhere what it used to be. Unfortunately, we won't come back to what used...to be our favorite place to dine.More

We had reservations and were seated immediately. If you love seafood, this is the place to go. Between the six of us we had oysters, salads, roasted veggies, Cheil Pinot and tacos. Pretty varied and everyone loved what they had.

We went here last time we were in Carmel - a couple years ago. We decided to go back - and the experience was pretty much the same . It's an okay place. They were having problems with their online reservation system - so there...was a lot of chaos and long waits despite reservations. The fresh oysters were fine - not the freshest, but okay. Salad was fine - all of it 'fine' just not really good. Service is efficient and friendly, and they were pretty attentive. Hard to find a better word than 'average.'More

Sorry not very good clam chowder and the food is not that fresh. I tried the fried oysters are not that good. And my kids are going to the restroom and the owner is rude questioning if my kids are customers. The only good things...is a the servers are very nice and friendly.More
