Surprisingly good, nice staff. Great food, excellent deal for seniors on the menu. Made taking older relatives out for dinner a pleasant surprise.

Every once in a while you have food that is so good, you are compelled to write it down, to document the goodness. I write quite a few reviews, sometimes months after visiting a restaurant or attraction. Not Robata. I had to to explain right now how flavorful and deliciously rich and crispy the "Crunchy Carmel" roll is (Salmon, Tempura... More

Robata's has long been a favorite. This was our first visit under new ownership. We were seated immediately and our waitress showed up quickly to take our drink orders of iced tea and hot green tea. The iced tea came rather quickly. After a wait of over five minutes, I asked about my hot tea and was told it would... More

Robata has been located at the Barnyard for many years. In the 90's this was an amazing Restaurant with a fantastic Owner. Nowadays there appeared to be Hispanics ( Mexicans ) preparing the Food. The Ambience is alright but the Food should be better for the prices being charged. The wait time is slow but Staff seem friendly. Food lacked... More

I always look forward to stopping by the Robata sushi restaurant. My work usually has me staying at the Mission Inn which is walking distance from this restaurant. I sit at the sushi bar and the chef amazes me with his work. The Tuna (Maguro) is the best I have had.

What a super dinner we had here. The ambience was really nice. We sat in a booth and although the restaurant was packed, the noise was subdued.e had such a wonderful waitress, Motoko, just delightful!

Nice atmosphere, poor service. I had the combo "Bento box" lunch special. Salmon and Sashimi, was pretty good, but not great. One thing that was different from other Japanese restaurants that I have eaten at is they give you a choice of a salad or soup, most other Japanese restaurants I have visited include both. The server didn't come by... More

I was here since 1987 and would like to go back to Robata to bring back memories. This restaurant is still my most favorite Japanese restaurant in Monterey area. I like the atmosphere and the good service. The food is also very good and fresh. I will keep going back there if I go back to Monterey next time

I went with two other people on a Saturday night. None of us had been there in years-- a decade? We had cocktails at the bar waiting for our third to arrive. We were seated when our friend arrived exactly on time for our reservation. Our waiter-- Geraldo?-- was outstanding. We started with house salads-- red leaf lettuce, julienned carrots... More
