Upon the receptionist at the Carmel River in, we decided to try the Rio Grill which was within walking distance from our hotel. Wow, we loved the place and the atmosphere. Our waiter was wonderful. The drinks and wine were superb. We had Lump Crab Cakes (mmm good) and the spare ribs (juicy, easy, and well spiced). A wonderful dinner... More

Tripped upon this place during a 1-night stay at Carmel Mission Inn. I didn't expect much since the restaurant looked like a chain, which I tend to stay away from. But I was very impressed with the Grilled Artichoke appetizer I ordered, as well as the salad with curry dressing. Good glass of wine from local winery, Bernardus. My awesome... More

I would say this place is casually upscale. The food was well presented with some imagination, quality and quantity. We had a pumpkin seed encrusted salmon, wonderful. As a side, they offered a yam/potato cake which was really good. The atmosphere and staff were high quality but we still felt very comfortable.

Hadn't been to the Rio for awhile. Used to have lunch there with my aged mother who required wheelchair room and time for a studied lunch order. I was always impressed with the staff's patience, kindness and attentiveness. Well, things haven't changed. Lunch today included brisk, helpful service, clear answers to questions about the dishes all conducted cheerfully. Food and... More

Great ambience. Lots of eclectic art on the walls and in the nooks. Had the pork shank with jicama slaw - mmmm. Wife had a steak and finished it all! Waiter (called a facilitator here - haha) was attentive without being obtrusive.

Well decorated and attended, the restaurant has customers from the professional to the relaxed. Menu is extensive, taco menu changes daily. Prices reasonable and service is friendly. Food was decent, fish and chips a bit soggy and fish stew tasty but limited variety. Still a great place for lunch or dinner.

The food is an excellent combination of seafood and southwestern veggies and flavors. But the reason I keep coming back every time I am in the area is Inga's House Made Olallieberry Pie! If you are a blackberry fan, this specialty berry, which is rare, is a genuine treat!

We went to a wonderful meal at Rio Grill. We called for reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. Service was good. We had cocktails and wine. For our appetizer we enjoyed their habanero deviled eggs. Tasty complementary sourdough bread was also served. For my main I had their special of the day. Their tilapia was perfectly cooked and was... More

We usually like this restaurant a lot but today was disappointing. We brought out of town friends here and ordered brunch. So far so good but... it took a long time for the food to get here and the order was not right. The food we did get was very good but the wait and inability to get the food... More
